I like what Bennett is trying to do with "keeping it simple"; hold the ball, defend well etc., but I am a little frustrated our halves aren't more imaginative. Chip and chase, grubber through the line, the sort of thing. Do something unexpected every 2 or three sets. We seem very predictable and even to me we seem to telegraph our passes so badly the other team never seems in two minds. I always remember Mullen deliberately punting a goal-line dropout the full length of the field last year which he and the wingers sprinted after. The opposition was totally dumbstruck and given the right bounce we would have scored off that one kick. That' out-of-the-box thinking is just what we need occasionally. We need to have a plan, agreed, but we need our moments of madness, too.

The game plan needs to be altered to allow for free flowing footy. Get the ball out wide as much as possible as that's where our strike is. Mullen needs to do more kicking for the wingers, I find 9/10 times he's kicking for a repeat set and not chancing his arm with an attacking kick.

Anyone suspect that we might have to find room for Mamo in first grade soon? Even if McManus/Uate are better at the moment you feel we might need to give him a decent crack in first grade before someone else will....

    If that makes sense.

In my book knowing the Uate lovers will scream, Mamo to one wing and Uate and Jimmie M compete for the other. He is the brightest thing on our horizon young Jake.

I was saying what you guys were saying 2 weeks ago too, but after the Bulldogs game, he showed his size & inexperience, he's gonna be a good player for sure but he needs a season in NSW Cup to gain size & learn how it's like to play against players that are as good as him. If he starts dominating NSW Cup, he should start to go really good in his first-grade appearances when he gets the chance & then that's when it's time for Uate or McManus to be displaced.

Hopefully we let him fill for injuries/rep stuff this year and next year, then maybe give him a contract extension before other clubs get a crack. By then old Darius should be clearing out to give up his spot.

Did post a thread on Mamo's Man of the Match performance in the Under 20 State of Origin last night but it seems to have been culled. He grab bed three tries, and it should have been four. His size will be no problem a la Robbie O!

This thread seriously confused me

I think we are playing too conservatively, we always seem to be setting up for the block play to Ponga on the left which is becoming too predictable. I would like to see more tip ons from the forwards or a bit of second phase play with an offload like Klemmer did to set up one of the tries last night. And obviously play with a bit more shape on the right

Until we get some bodies in motion and variation in attack the opposition will continue to come off the line quick and knock us over.

From reading the first post in this topic it looks like we still have the same issues.
Attacking weapons in our backline that are not being utilised.

The kick in behind the rushing d line would be an option for us but we just don't do it. Every team so far have rushed us and got results. Time to turn it around.

get deeper in attack and for gods' sake run onto the ball like you mean it...more dummy half scoots...second phase play...chip kicks and run-arounds...anything to break up the stale, stodgy so-called attack displayed so far...do what they don't want you to do.

sack everyone - especially the hookers - hire some guys who hopefully don't need coaching.
Oh wait, that is what we are doing now.

sign any player to score a try at 15 years old, claim he is the greatest player we have ever produced, whinge and blame the coach when he ****s the bed and gets punted to never be seen again.
