According to Fox Sports today we have beaten Cronulla for Rory Kostjacin's signature and we are expecting to announce his signing next week

I was going to ask if there was anything more concrete on Kostjasyn but I forgot about the cooling period, guess we will have to wait for the announcement

Bummer I was hoping Crona snared him to replace the menace.

He's not a world beater but atleast he is competitive and good value from what I have read. Give Levi a chance to grow into the job not just expected to to perform every week. Better than spending $500k on Rein also.

As long as it's very cheap and we don't hear any garbage from the club about it being a key or marquee signing.

I see Micky Paea is signed for 2017, and no one has said anything about him leaving. Brown doesn't seem to be a big fan though.

Which is weird when he misses the least tackles in the team and we leak 34 points a game.

Paea must have kicked Brown's dog because I reckon he goes ok. Certainly good enough to get more game time in 1 of the worst performed teams in History.

Kostjacyn was reportably salary cap friendly , he wanted to get home so he came pretty cheap , he ll strengthen us and really help out Levi which is good. I'm hoping we snare bird and Vaughan. A fullback too but I think we can use a make shift one for now and go after a star for 2018 , we ll have to improve next year , look at winning 5-7 games , that will help a little bit with luring players. Players will only come here for 2017 if there not getting a run at there current club or will be getting overs and a longer deal.

What does the Kostjasyn deal mean for the potential shift of Mullen to Hooker and Lamb to 5/8. Can't see it happening now.

I'd still train him there in the off season. Then Mullo covers halves n hooker, good for injury cover as long as its not Mullo injured

Plus we don't want Levi playing every game, his back needs stints in first grade whilst it strengthens

Ideally Levi would come on after 25 mins when the pace drops off a bit.

Yeh I agree , he doesn't suit the softening up period at the start of games , more a hooker who can look to expose tired forwards

Levi to me should be like what Granville is for NQL. Start Kostjasyn in the 9 and bring Levi on around the 25 minute mark so he can expose the tired forwards up the middle and give us good ground to start off our sets and get a good roll on from there. Won't say it'll work for us as the Cowboys are the reigning premiers and we have back to back spoons but I think that's the best way to utilise both players. I think Levi should work on running the ball a lot more too. Maybe switch Kostjasyn to lock after a while just to keep our defence solid?

Now all we need is a solid fullback

And centres, a winger, halfback, lock and bench forwards.
