I see Tom Starling (Canberra), Hudson Young (Canberra), Braydon Musgrove (Manly), Sam McIntyre (Wests) - all members of our 2014 under 16s national champions - have got senior contracts.

Development players listed on the Knights site

    Mat Croker

    Tex Hoy

    Luke Huth

    Jirah Momoisea

    Simi Sasagi

Looks like Chris Randall has lost his development contract and has not been added to the senior list yet.
I suspect Chris Randall, Zac Hosking are trialling for one of the remaining spots, and we have also heard that Matt Soper-Lawlor and Jake O'Meley are others who are trialling.

You would think that those mentioned as trialling would consider themselves a chance to secure a position as we are not likely to sign many due to lack of finances or more importantly players available might be too costly.

They have cut all the departing players from the firstgrade profiles and they have kept Chris Randall.

Randall might be insurance against Levi staying or going.

This morning they have added Brailey and Matt Croker to the firstgrade profiles - no Huth or Sasagi yet.

Matt Croker's profile says he is 191cm tall and 109kg. He carries that well. I thought he was about Glasby sized.

    He is a natural offloader.
One thing about our great year in under 20s in 2018 that sticks in my mind is Matt Croker taking the ball up and seeming to be smothered by defenders, and Matt Hoy running through the ruck at top pace, and somehow Croker would sneak an arm free and deliver a perfect pass to Hoy at top pace. They did that several times over the season.

    No Guerra?
Ponga and Klemmer didn't get much of a break.

    Knew I'd forget someone.

Klemmer and Levi aren't training yet - and Lino, Fermor and Toa are all injured.

I edited him and Saulo in when I went back to see who I forgot - they probably should be both starting in the seconds.

Basically we have the same team as 2019 with SKD out the others that have left we’re basically reserve graders either not good enough or getting past it with younger players coming through, if we can pick up 3-4 cheap but promising players then with new coach and enthusiasm we might have a team that can make the 8. Just a bit short of backup in a few positions.

I'd like to think that the only two players who have peaked in this years squad are Pearce and Guerra, so every other player could go to a new level with a bit of luck.

That's a good thing at the moment. At one stage there, it looked like we'd lose anywhere up to 5, 6, 7 players. That's all fine & dandy to cut deadwood, but you need to have just as good replacements lined up ready to come in, otherwise 2020 would be another waste of a year. Our only significant losses from last year are SKD & Ramien, Best & To'a look set to take up their spots. So keeping the generally same squad as last year should hopefully mean we won't go backwards talent wise.

So Hunt and Tuala have been added.
    So the leaves 3 spots.
    I wouldn't mind a wing, 5/8 & 2nd row.
Wing could be Sopa Lawler or Robberts.
The other 2 depends on how much cap we have left.
We could put Randall or Sasagai in the top 30 to be back up 5/8 and spend the remaining cash on a 2nd row.
Or if Levi goes could spend the money on a 5/8 and Randall can be a back up hooker.
