Country womens
Phoebe Desmond (Newcastle Knights),
Kirra Dibb (North Sydney Bears), - former Knight
Jayme Fressard (Central Coast Roosters), - former Knight
Olivia Higgins (Newcastle Knights),
Melanie Howard (Newcastle Knights),
Caitlan Johnston (Newcastle Knights),
Olivia Kernick (Central Coast Roosters), - former Knight
Bobbi Law (Newcastle Knights),
Tayla Predebon (Newcastle Knights).

The good news out of that is that Olivia Higgins is now listed as a Newcastle Knight. She was very impressive for the Roosters in the NRLW finals.

Connor Votano 3 is starting at centre for u16s country and Jack Hilliar 10 at prop.

6 all
Hilliar looks good so far.
Votano is fast, but his his defence let in country's try

country (team picked from the Andrew Johns under 16s comp) 12
City (team picked from playings who are a year young playing Harold Mathews u17s comp) 10
halftime

City 36 - 12 Country fulltime under 16s
Hilliar was only on for the first 15 and the last 10. He went well, but most of the city forward pack were as good or better.
Young Fittler, number 12, was the star for city.
Voltano had a pretty quiet game but stayed on for 60 minutes.

Next game features 2 of our best from S G Ball for city - try scoring freak and lock Myles Martin and try scoring freak and centre Ethan Ferguson. both are able to play under 18s because they were a year young for Ball this year.
In the country side we have our backup halfback from Ball, Taj Blackman, who played Laurie Daley cup for much of the season but also had 3 or 4 games of Ball to replace halfback Simon Allen when injured.
I expect Martin and Ferguson to be standouts. They were in Ball against older guys.

Looks like Fletcher Sharpe is in at fullback for city and Myles Martin at lock, but I don't see Ferguson out there.

Ethan Ferguson is playing wing

Nice line break and try assist to Fletcher Sharpe

24-0 to city

30 - 0 at halftime to city

Sharpe looks his usual lively self at the back.
Myles Martin is running hard from lock.
Ferguson has made some good runs and kicked 5/5 goals - two from the sideline.

Taj Blackman is trying hard for country at halfback, but his side is being dominated.

42 - 18 win to city
I think Martin and Sharpe were 2 of the best and did enough to get a spot for NSW.
Ferguson kicked 7/7 including some tough ones and did nothing wrong on the wing, and also went in field looking for work a lot in the end, but his centre wasn't keen to give him the ball, so he didn't get many chances in attack. They might still pick him.
Taj Blackman was one of the better players for country, but the city halves went OK and got to standout more behind a strong pack. They might pick him in the squad for backup.

14 - 6 win to country
Captains try to Caitlan Johnson was the winning effort.

Really tough game.
Apparently most of the NSW side is already picked and none of the ones already picked played in this game, but plenty of girls put their hands up for the remaining spots. A big effort from all.
