NRLW Semi-Final - Knights V Brisbane - Sunday 24 September 2:05pm - McDonald Jones Stadium

Gallagher, Roche and Butler all coming back from injury and all had their worst game of the season.
If they are better for the run next week, that's probably all the improvement we need.

Yeah it does. Just like the knights are clearly a reflection of Ron (in best possible way) they’re definitely a reflection of their coach. Kelly in particular was really pissed, whinging about the ref too, Didn’t realise she’s such a sore loser. Clearly doesn’t like the Knights either.

Maybe if they buy a few more rep players they’ll finally get it done lol

Wow I just checked out the presser. It’s really embarrassing, like it would be all over NRL360 for days if it was a men’s team. Just constant whining. It’s unfair they didn’t get another chance next week, because they finished second and played “exciting attacking footy no one else is playing” (uh huh, where was that today?). They won the 2021 comp because they snuck into 4th with a losing record and caught the Broncos on an off day. Great finals system then wasn’t it!

Then they blame some injuries and yeah they had some things go against them, but they acquired a team so stacked they were at Penrith vs Canterbury regular season game odds to win the comp a few weeks ago. Then they blame the refs. The bounce of the ball. Never at any point is there any suggestion they didn’t play well or live up to any sort of standard, after a game they were very fortunate to not lose 24-0.

And yeah Izzy is actually worse than John. I’ve never felt like she’s quite as dominant and influential as a player of her massive talent should be and now I see why. Downhill skier. Complete no show from her today.

I would, sincerely, fire the coach and then not re-sign Izzy just on the strength of this, if I ran the Roosters. You’ve gotta leave the whining about refs to losers like Marathon Stadium forum user HarVeeGee. The internal ethos has to be, be the best you can be, respect the opposition, no excuses.

Yeah it was terrible, awful sportsmanship. No real credit given to the titans at all who played really well. Beat the **** out of them all game and kept them scoreless. Just excuse after excuse.

I thought it was funny when she said about the exciting footy they played. Like yeah their attack great at times but means bugger all of you fall to pieces the minute someone puts some pressure on you. I mean yeah the knights actually haven’t even played that great all year but they fight till the last minute and play for each other and find ways to win. Which in the end is all the matters.

I think we should still win next week but I’ll be far less annoyed losing to the titans than if we’d manage to lose to those assholes.

Yeah as much as I’ve noted spots where our roster is a bit thin and other teams have an advantage over us atm, there’s one very important stat we’ve been #1 at.

Wins.

And yeah I won’t be upset if the Titans are too good next week, they’re clearly peaking at the right time and I think there’s been a lot stacked against our girls - key injuries early, Hannah clearly not having had time to get her fitness back, Georgia Roche’s visa issues meaning she’s short on fitness and just didn’t get any time to train with her teammates before the season started - but I haven’t heard a single complaint, they’ve just got on with it and found ways to win. We’re way better set up for 2024 than this season as it stands, everything achieved this year is just gravy.

Yeah and the complaint just seemed to be ruck speed? Titans got away with slowing down the play the ball more? Wow, wonder if the NRL keeps some sort of objective measure of how much that happens over a ga-

Oh yeah you really copped it hey.

This is factoring in that the Titans were clearly way more dominant in the tackle all game so you would expect the Roosters play the balls to be slower than the Titans ones… but nope.

Reading the comments made me just go watch the press conference.

Wow. The level of unprofessionalism from a coach and a captain right there.

Sure, the emotion of losing, but the coach especially winging about the format, after never speaking about it all season or prior to the game, just so poor.
That's not a leader, that's not a coach I would fight for, nor the captain who sounds like they're throwing the toys out of the cot because they didn't get their way.

They had 70min to do something, but they showed that there "brilliant attacking football" was basic as **** if you get in there face like Titans did and Knights did few rounds ago and give them no room.

Barely holding themselves accountable, for mistakes, poor discipline and poor attacking ability and just blaming injuries, bad officiating (hold downs) is diabolical.

Long may this ***** arse team and ***** arse stars fail to achieve and continue to throw wobbalies! EVEN when they lose again next yr in the second chance semi-final!

"So John, Izzy, you said last yr you wanted a second chance, you got it this year and yet still lossed both times? Who dod you blame now"? :P

The finals structure he was talking about would leave a finals weekend with just one game played, I don’t think the NRL would go for that in this day and age. You need weekly content out there. So until there’s enough teams for a top eight, I think it will stay as it is.

The Women’s Rorters team have damaged their club’s reputation by being such bad losers.

They need to under stand that no matter how much money you spend, you can’t buy a premiership.

Yesterday was the first live game of NRLW I've seen this year.
The quality of the game was way above the quality of games last year.
The side that played yesterday would have easily beat our premiership side last year, even though many of them were the same players.
I can't think of an individual player who hasn't improved, and although we've lost players like Dibb, Mazelmann and Boyle, the improvement in players like Upton, Higgins, Clydsdale, Johnston, Parker and the new girls more than makes up for their loss.
I'd say the Broncos side we played yesterday was also easily the best ever Broncos side.
Obviously the girls aren't as big, strong and fast as male players, but skill level wise, they are now very close to NSW cup level.
Isabelle Kelly is a good example. 3 or 4 years ago she was easily the best player in the women's game. She has improved, but she is not a standout anymore. In fact, I don't expect her to be picked for Australia, and I don't know if i'd pick her for the Knights.

I’m glad roosters lost, couldn’t deal with another headliner of father vs daughter 😂 Strange does the bare minimum of good runs, catches & hits to continue flying under the radar. Doesn’t do much any other time throughout the game & has no speed to keep up with Roache or Upton if there’s an intercept or if they make a break.

She was pretty effective at getting all up in Ali Brigginshaw's grill yesterday. Kept her relatively quiet.
