NRLW Round 9 - Knights V Tigers - Thursday 14 September 7:45pm - Campbelltown Sports Stadium

This is the Knights last game before the playoffs start.

The Knights are in 1st place after beating the Roosters, they just have to beat the Tigers who are currently 8th to take out the minor premiership.

Go girls!

Most whole performance this year in defence and attack.

They don’t panic the girls. Have complete faith in there D and Tamika and Roach seem to be our best in attack structure.

Commentators will say roosters were without Boyle and Sergis that’s why we won. But honestly their attack struggled getting through us. Again like last week girls came out in second half and really tune we the screws harder, roosters were no where near us by then.

Great work.

Be interesting to see if Rima Butler can play for this one.
It will be close to 5 weeks.
They used to have a blanket rule for fractures of 6 weeks recovery, but these days they can do scans to work out if the bone has knitted, and they should be able to strap up her thumb to her hand so she shouldn't re fracture it anyway.
they said when she got injured she would be back this campaign and I hope she can get at least some minutes before we enter the knock out stage - so this week.

Can’t finish lower than second and can’t be matched up with the Roosters regardless of results this week. May opt to rest players with little to gain and no way of aiming for a particular matchup because we’re the first game of the round, and all of the important games could go either way. I think our attack could use another hit-out before finals but Griffiths might've already shown his hand with Upton given an early mark in the Roosters game. Rested a few in the final round last season as well. Upton & H Southwell are the 2 most obvious names.

Barring the Cowboys upsetting the Roosters which would mean the Titans could jump into 2nd - it’s the Titans, Broncos & Raiders jostling for bottom 2 finals spots. We’ve had close, tough games against all 3 and none will be a walk in the park. Broncos are the one I’d least like to face.

I agree with you on Brisbane. Weirdly I think Titans and Raiders are a much better chance of beating the Roosters than Brisbane, whereas Brisbane are a better shot at beating us than those other two.

I think you beat the Roosters by stifling and frustrating them. Titans are really good defensively and have a good pack. I know they got belted by the Roosters this year but i back then to be able to implement a better defensive game plan next time. Raiders haven’t defended amazingly but can bring a lot of physicality via their pack and that can itself put you off your game. Broncos don’t really do either of those things, they’re just good at constructing points. But they’ll never beat Roosters in a shoot out.

Whereas, our girls don’t mind a fairly low scoring game. They’ll back themselves to keep Raiders/Titans to two tries or fewer and come up with the points they need to get home. But Brisbane can’t be contained as easily and could punish us if we have yet another clunky, error-riddled performance.

Unchanged side.
Wests have made a number of changes - probably resting injured girls because of the short turnaround and no chance of winning, or maybe giving rookies a game while they can.

From the media session today Griffiths is considering resting players so I reckon Upton & Hannah will get a week off at least. Vallance called up from development list, same thing happened in the final round last year with Jess Gentle who debuted that same week.

Butler close apparently, possibly next week.

Togatuki is a big out for the Tigers, she was the only one I had any real concern about. Should get this one done.

Yeah thinking Vallance > Upton, Romaniuk > H Southwell, Kia > bench, Herdegen > J Southwell.

I don't think we need to rest anyone.
We have like a 10 day turnaround so everyone will be well rested anyway.
Maybe I'd put Upton in cotton wool because our season could hit the rocks if she got injured in a nothing game, and maybe I'd give the bench long minutes - but I'd play a near full strength side.

Good to see Butler training with the squad in the latest pics and looking as fit or even a bit fitter than before.

I noticed Roche had her upper leg heavily bandaged in the training photos, so probably just resting her because we can.

I hope Moran has a blinder.
She probably won't get a Knights contract next year with Southwell and Roche signed for years and Evie Jones and Herdegan on the books.but a good game should get her a contract somewhere.
