Very sad to see her leave but I did come across a instagram video with her in it a few weeks ago and she admitted she's struggled with homesickness.

After watching that video, I had feeling at some point she was going to leave Newy but didn't think it'd be this soon.

She'll be a club legend imo. We don't win last year's gf without her.

Not sure you can post this? Seems a bit incriminating? Without sources? I dunno just doesn’t sit right with me.
 
Gallagher has talked about wanting to become a fullback eventually, didn't expect it to be this soon but she'd be the one I'd be looking at from the current ranks. Parker has filled in before as well and I think Willison could probably go alright if given a decent crack at it, but think Gallagher has the most upside. White has been a good fullback coming through the grades but her lack of athleticism was pretty apparent in first grade which has hampered my expectations a fair bit.

Not many obvious options externally given the awful timing, but maybe there's another off the radar sevens player who could make a difference. Maddison Levi would be the dream but the ARU have already blocked her from playing NRLW while contracted. Wouldn't hurt to try to work something out though. Probably not a fullback but she's a Jaime Chapman-type athlete who looks like she'll be a superstar outside back whenever she finally does pop up in the NRLW. Stacey Waaka unsigned at the Broncos as well but would have to think there's a reason for that, she looked great.

Definitely adds insult to injury on the Johnston loss.
 
To be honest, I could never believe we got her here in the first place.
Every team in the comp should have been in a bidding war.
It wouldn't surprise me if Roosters offer to fly her down in a private jet just for games.

I mean there was a guy posting here regularly about how the Men's team hates the coach and the players all hate eachother, it's just a bit of fabrication when we weren't going that great.
 
She did what she needed to do for this club. We wouldn’t have a won a comp let alone two back-to-back without her.

As sad as it is, I hope everything is gonna be okay with whatever her family are going through. Just don’t go to the Roosters, Tamika.
 
Can't imagine the Southwells are thrilled with this situation so seems worth pointing out that they're both technically free agents at the moment. 2025 is the last guaranteed year of their deal before option years beyond that.

Don't really see Jesse going to another NRLW team (though I didn't see Johnston ever leaving or Upton requesting a release either) but could see her going back to 7s/union full time for a few years.
 
it’s heartbreaking. Hope her and her family are ok though. If it is coach based as well than I hope the club responds to it appropriately.

Better not go with Brisbane or Titans. Was there a comment in article about her maybe trying Union?
 
Losing Catlin and Upton in one season is just season breaking. Need to offer McEwen good money to stay, she’s our next legit superstar.

They wouldn't let a player like Tamika leave over a falling out with the head coach. They'd sack the coach. And they'd exhaust all options before granting the release if she was just unhappy.

Have it on pretty good authority that the family reasons are real and for this reason she's been back in Queensland already for weeks.
 
Upton was the highest paid NRLW player, so we have marquee money to spend and no one available.

Ron Griffiths was saying he was hopeful of signing the best player from the NZ 7s Gold medal side.

I don't know who that is, but I reckon we could outbid old Ronnie.
 
Playing devils advocate how long is the NRLW season 3 months? Surely she could have seen out the last year of her contract, I am sure the club would have accomodated her being in Brisbane or where ever for 2 - 3 days per week.
