The article randomly mentions Joeli Morris was the player of the year in HVN cup right after saying someone has been promoted from HVN Cup, so I assume the author thinks Joeli is the most likely.

Front and back page headline for the Newcastle Herald today features Sheridan Gallagher.
Don't panic.
It says she has signed for the Newcastle Jets, but since Knights pre-season doesn't start till May, she can play both codes.
She hopes to start training with the Jets immediately and play next weekend against her old side, western Sydney.
She says her NRLW commitment is 20 weeks and being able to play for the Jets will keep her fit and out of trouble for the rest of the year.

They play 4pm Sunday 3rd Nov at No. 2 Sportsground.

Higgins picked up an arm injury in the test today.
They originally said it was broken but later said it isn't.
6 months till pre-season, so i'm sure she will be fine.
 
I noticed yesterday that Evah was very comfortable going to dummy half for Samoa and passed well and had a couple of good runs from dummy half.
I've noticed that Jermaine McEwen often does good things from dummy half. He's even scored a few good tries by running from dummy half from about 10 out because no one expects the big guy to do it.
Younger brother Matt was number 14 in most games of Mathews this year and went on as hooker or lock.
It seems to me that the family work on dummy half skills and we could probably use Evah for short spells at dummy half if she ends up on the bench next year, as well as second row or lock.

I didn’t see anything in her game yesterday that would indicate she shouldn’t be in the run on side. Fearless, tough and can go the distance.
 
Article in the Herald and many on facebook saying Evah played 70 minutes at prop.
I wish it were true.
That would solve our prop issue if we had an 18 year old who could do a full game at prop.
Anyone who watched the game knows she played left second row and was pretty fresh towards the end because they spent all game going to the right, so Evah was able to have some big runs in the last 10 minutes.
 
Telegraph reporting Tamika Upton has requested a release on compassionate grounds and looks like she'll be returning to QLD, possibly to rugby union. Article says Knights are "in discussions" on finding a replacement so sounds like she's definitely gone.

Edit: The article says it's due to family circumstances changing that have taken an emotional toll so doesn't seem like it's bad blood with the Knights as of now.

Wish her the best and you can understand that for family reasons, it’s just unfortunate that it happens now when that money could have been used to keep a premier front rower or even both in Caitlain and/or Millie

Hopefully if she does go to union she might be willing to come back even for the shorter season and play just games with us

It will be hard now though if Jessie and Georgia don’t fire as Tamika pulled us out of about 5-6 games last year on her own
 
Well it gives us a marquee spot to fill.
Olivia Kernick should be on a marquee contract - just saying.
 
they can spin it whatever way they want. She was unhappy with the coaching staff and even walked out of training because she had concerns of injury to the girls just before their next game. Missing the awards night was a big sign too. Or maybe it was BJ being told to leave the change rooms during their last game half time chat 🤷🏽‍either way it’s a huge loss
 
I must say. She might be a marquee but the club has her in Aboriginal engagement role and she didn’t do a very good job at all in engaging with the community she frustrated a lot of people.
 
Sad to see her go. Hope everyone in her family are ok.

Easily our greatest women’s player. We don’t win or even make the 2 Grand Finals without her. Hope she goes to Union so we don’t have to pay against her.
