NRL General Recruitment and Retention

Gotta agree Lomax has been a brat, would be great if all the nrl clubs just openly stated “we don’t want him” obviously won’t happen but it would be good.

He has ruined his word as man and his reputation. Why would you sign a guy like Lomax now? He is a drama queen that is severely out of touch with the real world, a year doing brickwork will do him some good
I know if we signed him, I’d be horrified. Terrible fit.

If any struggling/mid team signed him, I’d be worried he would ruin any culture being created. Dragons. Eels. Both put some faith in him and he bailed.

However, I could see a club like the Storm being good for him. They already seem to have a strong senior cohort in Grant, Hughes, Munster and Bellamy. I don’t think they’d take crap from him. Club is definitely bigger than any individual there.

Maybe Penrith too. Not that they want/need him - but they seem to have a good mindset senior playing group and you essentially fit into the ethos, or you’re out.

His next girlfriend was, I would argue, better looking. There is no "fumbled" for Origin players on big money lol come on. If you're a high profile player and you want a hot missus and struggle to get one, that's a serious skill issue I'm afraid.

Holy **** thats huge for the bunnies! The Broncos will fall off pretty hard without him doing 3 players worth of work. Imagine if we got him :o
But for south's to have Murry and Hass in the middle is massive, although their halves are lacking so unless they have some more creativity coming through I dont know if he will get used correctly

Old Wayne is only good at coaching teams full of great players, remember!

Makes sense of Souths losing guys like Keaon and Moale without a fight, I guess they were going all in on this.

$1.5m for a front rower when you lack quality at 6,7 and 9 seems like terrible cap management. The only players earning that wage play in the spine.

Cap is way out of whack with Mitchell , wighton, Murray, arrow, Fifita and haas. They will have a good pack and a bottom four spine. Bennett used to make a habit of paying for spine players and being frugal with his forwards and it won him comps. Every time he has moved from that approach it’s lead to him struggling to play finals.

BTW:

Young halves of the NRL, if you think you’re going to be playing behind the best pack in the NRL in 2027, step forward…

… not so fast Jonah!

I've heard the Titans are paying most of Fifita's salary. Wouldn't shock me if Walker retired at the end of the year and with Keaon going, that'll clear space for Haas.

Spine still not looking that flash but that young five eighth Ward looked promising for them at the end of the year.
