So not 88Knight4life?
, well played sir.
No one at the Knights has said anything yet I believe, all we have heard is they are shortlisting candidates which (supposedly) had included O'Brien, and Fitzgibbon (who turned down the interest), which is probably about right at the moment. Then we have had blokes like Walters pulling a Boyd and ruling themselves out of the job.
I can't see Wests not doing their due diligence and searching far and wide for their next coach which is the moment they've been waiting for to make their stamp. Everything's been pretty calculated and careful, even Browns time here.
I don't think I've ever seen a coaching search be close to concluded 24 hours from the announcement of the current coached position at the club being announced as no longer being there from 2020 onwards. Everything else is speculation and only Wests know how long they have been sniffing around off the record.
No different to Bennett pretending to consider the Titans to make him look like he would not only coach teams in a premiereship contending window I guess lol.
Serious? Bit dramatic mate.
I don't reckon Des is coming.
In all seriousness, who do people want?
Or, who would people accept?
I'd love a Bellamy or a Robinson, but I also would have loved to win last weeks lotto.
Back to Manly yeah?
Geez you blokes are tough. Who is the alternative with experience we are going for again? Yeah, Jason Ryles, even less experience than O'Brien hasn't he? Fitzgibbon said no.
Are you crushing on the english guy?
Last year Wests dropped Cupples and Woolf on us and no one had any idea they were even looking for a new trainer and assistant coach.
I suspect they have been looking around and know exactly who is available and will make a good decision.
They seem on top of this, and they don't broadcast what they are thinking.
I'll give anyone they pick a year or so to prove themselves, but they won't get the free pass Brown got for 3 years, because the new guy will be getting a good squad, and Brown got a trainwreck.
The whole game has been ruined by the nrl and the political games behind closed doors where the clubs with the most money get the rub of the green.
I hardly watch any other games bar knights games anymore and i used to plan my week/weekend around footy.
I dont love the game like i use to and my love for the knights has been like a 30yr marriage where you keep holding on for that glimmer of hope that the one you fell for would come back some day.
None of them at all, all the current mentioned names are a step backwards imo.
I'd have Brown here still, said it enough times already.
Was a beauty
Comparing supporting the Knights to a loveless marriage maybe the most accurate comparison I’ve ever heard.
Matty Johns also mentioned Tim Sheens as a possible coaching director.
Brown will help with recruiting a coach (maybe over some of Mrs Brown's butter chicken one last time). Players and Wests leaning towards a rookie coach.
Dunno Sheens was past it late in his tenure with the the Tigers and that was almost 10 years ago.
What a terrible idea having Brown help, sorry but I know we are splitting amicably but fair dinkum.
I think it is good to get Brown’s opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates. It would be one factor I would take into account when deciding:
The fact that Brown is willing to do a handover with the new coach is invaluable and is a testament to Brownie’s character. We owe Brown a debt of gratitude.

Tele has thrown David Fairleigh in as a candidate, has the credentials
It's like having an amicable breakup with your mrs than having her help screen new partners. CRAZY.
