Hoy is a straight swap for Ponga.
Mann wasn’t too bad the first 2 weeks and had some nice touches. With no Brailey or Ponga there’s no way Obi will want to disrupt the spine even more.

Oh yeah, forgot about Brailey. Hoy might get a run in that utilty role with Watson at 9. Might be his calling. That's what I would try....collective sigh of relief I’m not coach

I think Watson will stay at 14, he had been given a fairly specific role this year, that also works for the top teams. I’d say the next ready dummy half will be slotted in.

The obvious answer at hooker is Randall.
He is a very similar style of player to Brailey.
When he scored his try in the trial the commentators called it to Brailey because they are the same size, play the same style and even have the same haircut.
You can see that Brailey is a bit crisper with his passing out of dummy half, and surer with what his role is, but that could be just because he trained with Pearce, Mann and Ponga a lot more than Randall did in the off season, and because Brailey is a lot more experienced.
Like Brailey, Randall is very fit and a very good and hardworking defender.
If we could start training as a team now, and could slot in Randall, he should be able to just slot in for Brailey and all we'd notice is that he isn't quite as good.

Brad Fittler is saying that they could restart league in 2 weeks if we put two 30 man SOO squads into isolated camps now and start with a 3 game SOO series to iron out all the protocols needed.
I imagine we'd have Klemmer, Pearce, Ponga, DSaf and maybe someone like Watson or Fitz might make a top 30 squad.

I hope you’re right Billy, I’m curious to see how Randall would perform in first grade. His defence is definitely a plus. Who knows, he may be just as good as Brailey if given the chance

There is zero reason as to why we should change a winning team apart from Barnett and Brailey’s injuries and Ponga’s suspension.

    1. Hoy
    9. Watson
    11. Sione

    Bring Saulo onto the bench.

Who kicks goals if no Ponga, Barnett, or Lino?

Plenty of time for someone to sharpen up kicking skills, obvious choice would be Hoy to 1 and kick but could we see Mann to 1 and Lino to 6

Saw a few interviews with Canberra staff and players in the last few days and got the feeling that they aren't training too hard.
i was surprized we didn't give our guys a week or two off before getting back into training.
I wonder how many sides would be ready if it all restarted in a few weeks.

As long as they stay in shape, they will be game fit pretty quickly.

Starting pack of Klem, Brailey, DSaf, Barnett, Frizelle, Ese looks good
    Watson, JSaf, Fitz, Guerra/ Glas...Sione/whoever

I don't see the hype in Hoy either he scored 1 nice try but also made a few mistakes too Besides that game never seen him do anything else .. I would put Watson to F/B long before Hoy ...

The sad thing is that a lot of boys like Hoy, Randall, Jones, Saulo and even Shibasaki and Tuala made big improvements in strength and fitness in the off season to a point where they were ready for firstgrade, and there's a chance they'll have lost that now.

Not really the kid can play no doubt but people talk like he's a seasoned player and our next savior. He played ok and scored a nice try.
Personally Though id like to have someone at F/b that has a bit of first grade experience there, Best has played more first grade id be thinking about him there before Hoy and Watson before both of them .

They wont be the only ones mate all clubs will be in the same boat and they could surprise us , most would have a home gym and they can still run for exercise .. No reason they cant do drills at home .
What ive seen of Randall he looked pretty good id be seeing about getting him in the top 30 if possible .
