Anyone heading to the stadium to watch? Should see a few familiar faces around.

    Talking of legends

This article on the Knights site this week where Greg Bird talks up Steve Simpson.
I often think Simpson doesn't get the credit he deserves because he was mostly a defensive player whose stats didn't look that impressive on paper, but he was basically a bag of concrete in a Knights jersey.
He only made in the low 20s tackles per game because no one in their right mind would run at him, and you could put Luke Walsh next to him in the line without worrying that people would run at Walsh, because they'd get a flying Steve Simpson's shoulder in the ribs if they did.
Anyway, a feel good Christmas story - Steve Simpson sends Greg Bird to hospital and laughs about it.

    Kurriboy and Beaumont like this.

Fantastic player who is no doubt held in high regard from the Knights fans who've watched him, it's just a shame injuries slowed him down significantly towards the end of his career. He would have been a good senior player for the young guys coming through had he been able to stick around.

Simmo was twice the clubman Bird ever was, or ever could be. Deserved to play SOS.
