Kurt Mann discussion

IMO Mann has played 2 good games at lock and going by those 2 trials he will be starting lock in game 1 and deserves it too i reckon .
That’s a fair assessment. The issue is going to be what it has always been.

It could also be argued Mann played 2 good games at 6, 9, 1 and 3.

O'Brien says Mann's role is "to get the ball to the centres" - so running sideways and passing to the backs - he seems qualified.
Just as qualified as David Boon, the 5 foot 2 Tasmainian with the flared pants, was the perfect choice whenever we need someone to field at Short Backward Square. I hope my Richie accent came through there.

Yet in the trials, he was playing first receiver, and between he and Gagai stood two decoy forwards, and Clifford and/or Ponga standing two wide.

Guess we should give credit where it’s due.

Maybe it should also be noted in Randall’s list of duties.

Johns did say they were not playing their proper attacking structure yet and was saving that for the NRL for points.
