Nothing wrong with outsourcing in the modern game, I'd take Coen Hess off your hands in a heartbeat.
Agree completely, of the supposed "top tier youth system" set up during the Bennett/Tinkler era we've seen the Saifiti's, Fitzgibbon and Sione the only ones able to make grade and hold a spot. Not at all. Relying on your own juniors will never work in today’s game.
I've only read it's the one yearYeah that came as a surprise. I thought it was either Randall or Watson. I wonder if we enquired or they offered - or if that even matters.
Any idea on the length of the deal? I read one article and it said multi year
Next year we will have Brailey back, and also Luke Huth (NSW under 20s hooker in 2019), Mitch Black (NSW under 18s hooker in 2019 and got a run in a few trials) and even Noah Naigolivia (NSW under 16s hooker in 2019) will be turning 18 in 2021.
If Randall gets a few games and kicks on a bit this year, we should have more than enough depth next year.
Huth will be 22 next year. If he doesn't make it next year, he probably won't make it. Black will be 19 next year - the age Levi and Clydesdale made firstgrade. If they aren't good enough to be our 4th and 5th options next year, we should cut them now.We aren't going to see Black or Naigolivia in 1sts in 2021, probably not Huth either. So that leaves Brailey, Randall, and Watson as our hooker depth. If McCullough does a competent job for us this year (and no reason why he wouldn't at least be serviceable), we can offer him a base contract next season to give us that additional depth if need be.
Lets face it, we haven't had the best luck with hookers recently. Touch wood.

I wasn't serious.Would rather wait and see what happens and who sticks their hand up. Randall is 24 and is in line to make his debut. He might crack the first grade side consistently depending on how he goes. Randall, McCullough and Watson are all off contract after 2020, and Brailey is gone for this season. It would be short-sighted to cut any of our hookers at this point.
There was an article a few days ago saying he has permission to play in firstgrade because we have no one else available. I assume that would cover next week, but the NRL could revoke it once McCulloch settles into the squad. All this talk about hooker, by my count new signing is No.30 so Randall remains in development squad, is he eligible to play 1sts in our next game, if so why?
