Seen as an unnecessary next step apparently. I guess that means just taking your best 19 year olds straight in to reggies.

If under 21s is just a 1 year only thing to give the boys who missed out last year a chance, it is OK, but most years, if you haven't made it to the seniors by 20, you probably should be looking for a real job.

This sounds like a money issue.
    Poor form.

Very disappointed to hear this last night, but having taken a deep breath, if it is just for next year and we have hand picked who we want, I don't think it is as bad as it sounds given the step up in ages.

Gardner said that 21 year olds should be playing against seniors, either in the state cup or in the local comp, and said we could keep an eye on players in the local comp and gave King and Randall as examples of players who have come through local clubs.
    I think it's fair.
We mostly play 18/19 year olds in under 20s anyway, with only a small number of 19/20 year olds, so most can now play under 19s this year without us losing much.

Guys like Daniel Ticehurst, Christian Maamania, Harry Croker, Cooper Jenkins, Dylan Lucas, Cameron, Sheppard, Bayden Searle etc - the guys turning 21 in '21 - will probably all play state cup anyway, and if they don't make the state cup team one week, they can stay match fit playing in the local comp, as most of them did this year anyway.

The thing about this I don’t like is that we could either lose players or fail to recruit players who would be in the Flegg side.

The idea of playing A-Grade in Newy might not appeal as much as playing Jersey Flegg.

And it supports the REAL NRL by making the young guys available to local Clubs and exposes them to different coaches.

    Correct.
Knights will lose juniors who want to play Flegg.
Will be harder to attract younger players also.

But if they're good enough they'll be in NSW Cup or NRL systems by that age.
