McDougall safe to say still has it, like he plays well but hes just very un-reliable with injuries and if his body can still take it. His call really.

Strung a few games together and talking about 2011 :p

In his defence he has been brilliant... never questioned that.

I think he will retire, though.

If he can keep the form he had on Sunday, he will probably keep going, but unfortunately I think he will retire too.

If he could play over 90% of the season's games, he would be one of the first to resign, but far to many injuries IMO.

Sadly he needs to retire but with the amount of forwards we have on deck for 2011 I just cant see sau taking on a leadership roll partnering a younger centre. With this issue I wold like to see cory paterson playin centre to make room for our new signing and hopefully LOD............I say Cory and not Zeb, for the simple reason his roll has been to play the fringes and we have all seen on numerous occasions Cory passing to our wingers for a try.

There is absolutly no chance of that happening. Corey is a big thick unit ideally suited to the 2nd row position and thats exactly where he will stay. Many backrowers like to play out on the fringes (think Pritchard, Waterhouse, Toupou for starters) this does not in any way make them potential centres. You play them there because it gives them the opportunity to find opposition spot defenders like the halves and five-eights and also steam roll the smaller sized centres still around.

It would be the most ridiculous thing the club has done in its history. Corey is relatively quick for a forward and relatively skillfull for a forward..but that the point, FOR A FORWARD. He isnt an option in the centres pure and simple and wont be playing there ever bar perhaps filling in mid game if we get an injury to an outside back.

If the Dog wants to play we should offer him match payments...if he doesnt then we need to look at far more realistic centre options then Patto. Steve Matai and Blake Fergerson are about if we are looking to recruit, I have reservations about Leuluia but he is potentially an option and we also have the option of looking to turn Mcmanus into a centre if we have to. That option would take alot of work in the off season teaching him the role and alot of patience early in the season, but if we cant sign a quality replacement I think he has the football brain to pull it off and it also allows us to see what Kevin Naquama can do in first grade.

I went with undecided.

Comes down to the amount of coin we can have him on, and if he'll be happy with what we can offer.

But honestly, the real decision comes down to Doogs. I can potentially see him retiring, considering how all this talk happened last year as well, and there was all the conversation about how he wishes to devote time to his business, time which undoubtedly is being taken up by his footy commitments.

It'll also come down to whether he believes or not he can still provide and contribute with his wearing body. However, the great thing about Doogs, is that when he is available/fit to play, he isn't a passenger and still shows he has plenty left to offer for the club. It's sort of a similar situation to Simmo, but unlike him, Doogs doesnt have to take great runs at the line and make metres/put his body a great deal on the line.

Currently, he's not exactly keeping exciting prospects from having a go in the centre role, however, with our signings so far, especialling LikiLiki, one would assume the club is preparing for him to go. All comes down to how long Liki will take till he's in FG.

Personally, he's one of my favourite players, and would never want to see him leave. Heck, play to 40 :p

The club has done far more ridiculous things! Second time in two days I've brought up Greg Smith... :D

Yep. I will give you that one lol. I willingly withdraw the comment that its the MOST ridiculous thing we have ever done. Greg Smith will forever hold that title

Question guys - what are our future centre stocks atm, and can anyone of them pass the ball ?

Well we signed a young Warriors 20s player who is supposed to be good, though you would think he wouldnt just waltz into first grade, Keith Leuluia has done well at times but it remains to be seen if he is a long term option. Our best two young outside backs are Peter Maitautai and Kevin Naquama who could potentially play centres (though i think PM is way way way better on the wing or at the back and Kevins explosive on the flank) and we could of course think about giving Mcmanus a go and slotting somebody like Kevin on the wing. as to whether they can pass I havnt seen much of our new recruit but apart from that I would have to say no I dont think that is any of our potential options strong points!

Likiliki is gun. I hope he gets a crack straight away. He's good enough for first grade imo.

He should be allowed to play forever and upto 200K of his payments should be exempt from the cap, change the rules now so we can keep these established players in the comp,

Plus I am a MADDOG MAN!

Hes gonna retire, thats what ive heard.

Thats probably what will happen, but if thats what you've heard from him or those around him dont take an ounce of notice!. He told me he was retiring or going to European Rugby in 2007 when I was writing a peice on him for the paper. He's funny like that, if you get him after a tough game or at training he is probably ready for something new but I think he finds it bloody hard to actually walk away, he loves it here
