Have seen several sources throwing around a rumour regarding Foran knocking back a contract extension from the Bulldogs to link up with Mitchell Pearce at the Knights.

Upsides - former international half, ex-premiership winning half and a fantastic player on his day.
Downsides - hasn't played in a competitive side since 2013, made of glass and probably wants more money than he's worth.

Would you take Kieran on at our club?

    That's a relative question.

Would only be a year at best, most likely a game by game, no let’s sign someone with a few years.
He is/has been a great player but injury has curtailed his career

We are not signing Kieran Foran, the media are morons and have nothing better to talk about.

All our five eight options are on less money put together then Foran is.

We have enough worth keeping around even if not all of them as well as Crossland

He would probably give us 2 magical games.
Him and Pearce together would be great.
    But it wouldn't last.

If we are going for a title next year and we could get him for Watson's money - sure.
If we are trying to build a team to have a shot in 2022 or 23 - no.

Yeah it’s not your fault the Telecrap link us to players and make up crap that ain’t happening.

O’Brien also hinted today he is keen on having Watson re-signed despite his injury. Throw in Mann/Hoy and Crossland as well as Lino even if they don’t re-sign him and there is no need.

Barry Toohey already replied to concerns confirming the story is rubbish so need to worry about us being interested in signing him, lol.

Look I agree Kurt has been a solid performer , but is he the floil Pearce needs ?

KP spends more time at 5/8 than he does at FB , how can he read the opposition and chime in at pace where needed when he is in the front line ?

That is the benefit of pursuing a genuine experienced 5/8, not saying Foran is who we need but that sort of player for sure.

Foran, at his age and physical state, isn't our answer...

Based on what I've seen so far, O'Brien and McKinnon have a good eye for young talent and with Clint Zammit coming here next year, I don't see us doing a 'Bennett' and trying to buy a premiership side.

I see these guys building a premiership team with astute buys and quality coaching systems - I am really looking forward to O'Brien's side in 2 years time, when he has fully had his opportunity to pick the players and build the squad he wants.

We’ve been building a team forever. This season it’s top 8 or a massive fail. We have a soft run home and with a ton of home games 1 point clear of the 8.

Yeah with the likes of Ponga, Pearce, Klemmer, Saifitis, Best, Frizell, there is no better time than now. Can't always be building for the future, anything can happen, in 2 years time half of those players could be over the hill or at a different club for whatever reason. I hope Brailey comes back good, he's one I feel can make a difference, as well as the much talked about need for a secondary playmaker.

My response was about not wanting to secure Foran for next year and agree with an expectation that we have the capability in the roster this year and next (when fully fit) to be a competitive force that should be competing as a top 6-8 team this year and stronger the next (without going after Foran)

My point was about the structures and player development systems we are building within the club for the sustainable medium to long term to compete with the Storms and Roosters of the world.
