Junior results 30/3/24

In Flegg the year before last when we made the GF against Penrith, the Roosters were the gun side and finished minor premiers and then crashed out with consecutive losses and missed the GF.
You see it a lot in juniors because a lot of coaches don't play their best 17 till the finals. The move players around and try out fringe players all season and get serious for the finals - all about development.

50 - 10 after 65 - they are letting Saints get a sniff - they only have to win by 34 now.

50 - 10 fulltime
we finish the season 2nd or 3rd if Saints can pull off a big win against the Warriors in NZ.

The 2 games the Warriors have lost in NZ were by 8 and 4 points.

It's hard to tell what's happening in the Saint Geroge v Warriors game because the person doing the updates seems to be learning on the job and keeps changing things, but they are now saying Saints are ahead 18 to 12 just before halftime, so winning by 34 to get ahead of us on F and A looks pretty hard from there.
So looks like we finish 2nd in SG Ball.

Thanks for update Billy.

Thanks for update Billy.
Went of too quick - Warriors got it back to 18 all just after halftime and then caved and let in 6 unanswered tries - so we finished 3rd.

Flegg has started.
Knights 4 - 0 Warriors after 27 minutes
  • Jeremy Trappett 26'

If it's still the same system 1st and 2nd get the first week off before playing the grand final qualifier. Better to only have to win 1 game than 2 but both top teams were eliminated after the week off last season.

We should have our first game in Ball finals against the Steelers, who should give us a good test, and then Saints for a spot in the GF the next week. We beat Saints in a tough game in the rounds, so we will need all hands on deck, but should beat them.

Flegg won 18 - 8 v Warriors
  • Jeremy Trappett 26'
  • Siaosi Kaliti 49'
  • Jarome Falemoe 53'
  • Siaosi Kaliti 58'
We should be up to 4th place when the ladder is updated

2 minutes in Hastings puts Leaumoana straight through a gap, he draws the fullback and decides to grubber for some reason but Pryce gathers it and scores.

Warriors go in again a couple of minutes later. Questionable penalty given on a dropped ball and Warriors take advantage, 10-6.

If you took out Hastings and Cartwright and replaced them with Sutton and Sua, I think it would be the youngest reserve grade side I'Ve seen.

LF cup Knights 46 - 4 Bears WON
HM cup Knights 34 - 6 Tigers WON
TG cup Knights 20 - 6 Bears WON
SGB cup Knights 50 - 10 Tigers WON
JF cup Knights 18 - 8 Warriors WON
Reserves Knights 12 - 26 Warriors LOST

First week of finals has been announced for the juniors, all available on NSWRL tv.

Saturday 13th (so a week off first)
Lisa Fiaola Cup 1:30pm vs Eels
Knights snuck into 6th spot so will be underdogs but there was only 2 points separating 3rd from 7th before a big drop off. Didn't play the Eels in the regular season.

Tarsha Gale Cup 3pm vs Sea Eagles
Both had the same amount of wins but Manly had an extra draw and a better for and against as well. Their regular season game was the only Knights game streamed so far, Knights looked like they had it in the bag before 2 Manly tries in the last 5 minutes saw it end in a draw.

SG Ball 4:45pm vs Steelers
Knights finished the season as the best attack and 3rd best defence in SG Ball and will be favourites. Didn't play the Steelers in the regular season.
