Toohey talking abou James Gavet as a possible target for the Knights.
He is contracted for next year but may get a release.
Imo he is an ok bench prop.

    From Tooheys news.

    Hunt for props

The Knights bid to recruit a much-needed big man up front for next season have so far produced a duck-egg.

But while he may not have been near the top of the club’s original most wanted list, a name we keep hearing bob up is Warriors prop James Gavet.

He’s under contract next season but as we all know, that doesn’t mean a lot these days

i wish we signed him just for you! lol

King would still find a way in the side even if we had the top 10 best props in the game...

We are supposed to be using this money we have to improve the side.
Signing old, washed up reserve graders is not the way to go.
I'd rather give one of the under 20s props a year to prove himself than just sign an old guy to fill a spot.

Young Zac is a gun hooker, he'll be a great pick up for cup and will defiantly push Levi for a spot in the NRL squad all year.

Gavet for cheap would be a good signing as well, and Zac Woolford has a huge upside, nice signings if they come.

Doubt he'll ever be a rep player reminds of Phil Bailey back in the day, great clubman, but not that next level.

88' will have one of those planes flying around MJ Stadium with a Zane Musgrove banner flying behind it shortly. :giggle:

I reckon he should contact sporting news with a tip off that we are interested in him, get the story out there and plant the seed.

I can't work things out sometimes, I get this bloke isn't a top tier prop, but on one hand he is an old washed up prop at 29, yet on the other props are not meant to hit their best years until 28. Thats some slim window of peak output.

Looks like the Knights are facing up to the fact that we aren't attracting any top props to the club, we have to sign someone and here we are. There will still be money available if something comes along.

Hey @88Knight4life why don't you offer to help the club out with a 3rd part deal for Musgrave, you could plaster his face all over your landscaping trucks!

I don't think he's been doing it at Canterbury, but at Canberra he often had a run at lock or even 5/8 and he has a really good running game and the vision and kicking game to be a playmaker.
He could be a handy bench player if he can get his defence up to the same standard as his attack. He is big enough.

Gavet doesn't really excite me but he is a prop and we need props, can't seem to stay on the field so he'll fit in perfectly with our lot.
