Ethan Cook makes NYC Team of the year

Joshhh

Danny 'Bedsy' Buderus
Hey people, ever heard of this guy? I have huge raps on him. He's currently the Knights NYC captain & he is the youngest in the team too. He is a lock/second rower and i am not saying that he is anywhere near a finished product, he's got little things in his game to work on. He's a ballplaying backrower that has all the skills of a halve but the defense of a backrower. He's a great player & i hope he makes the grade next year. He even had an article in Big League last week. In it he said he likes getting his hand on the ball more & wants to crack FG in 2011 or 2012. I think he's a perfect replacement for Simmo & i really like his style of play. He set up a crucial try in NYC against the Bulldogs like a halfback. Anways, i have huge raps on him & i reckon he has a big future possibly a representative future.

Housten was a perfect replacement for simmo.

He is only 18 now, 19 next season, so unless we have major injury problems in the backrow can't see him getting a run, even if he is in better form then our average backrowers. Especially when he has a whole season left in NYC. At best he will get a game or two to blood him, like Mika got last year.

Yes he does have a big future ahead of him, but 2012 or 2013 we could see him in the top side, this "big future" could go down like a led balloon if you feed him to the wolves!!!

I was very impressed with him on Sunday, he is almost your perfect Lock foward for those who haven't seen him. He also has a crisp kicking game for a back rower aswell. He looks to be a natural 5/8, but has the size to play in the second row.

He is definately a chance for 1st grade next season.

There's a few good players in that side. Roberts and a couple of the others have already been spoken about in other forums, but if you get a chance have a look at Cruise Wilson (front rower) Redman (Hooker) and Rodney Mason (second rower). There is at least six or seven young blokes there that are going to be real good first graders in three or four years time. I rate a couple of them higher then Kyle O and should be getting a start before him.

Ethan Cook is a hell of a player from what I've seem. He through a sensational long ball for a try last week against the Dogs and he looks a dangerous ball runner.

Definitely a first grade player of the future

He made the Toyota Cup team of the year at Lock a big achievement for one of the younger players in our squad that has been very disappointing.
Likikliki made the team aswell for the 2nd time in a row

I knew it! Huge raps on this kid, should be a FGer next year hopefully! Ever since i made this thread he's started to step up & his stats have gone out of this world lol!

Good effort by him to make it good on LikiLiki as well for making 2 in a row shame to not see Kyle O'Donnell or Beau Henry there but i still believe both are going to be quality players

Awesome stuff for him, hopefully we can secure him here at Newcastle and get him a FG spot sometime.

Cook & O'Donnell selected for Junior Kangaroos!!!

Great news for 2011. Costigan is going great at prop recently, O'Donnell makes the Australian team, Likiliki makes the NYC Team of the Year twice in a row, Cook makes the NYC Team of the Year & Australian team. The only one that hasn't really impressed this year has been Beau, that's a bit of a worry too because he is probably the most important signing (supposed to be our no. 7 solution). But anyways, good news. :D

I've been thinking of this a bit lately, does anyone think Cook was showing a lot of Bird like similarities in his game this year? He is a must keep for mine, a lot of clubs will be looking to pounce in the coming year or two. He looks very much like a Bird type player.
