Date display settings

Is there a way to change from the dumb American date settings to the proper way?

eg Today's date in America would be 07-08-2009. I want it to display 08-07-2009.

It's probably nothing but it confuses me and I am sorry if there is a simple way to fix it but I can't find anything in the User CP.

Dont think it can individually be changed.

Where do you read the date on here? I'll have a look if you help me out with that one

Edit: Do you mean top left of each post - I'd say you could, but I wouldn't know how. It should be in usercp for sure though.

Yeah at the top of the posts that are 2 or more days old (otherwise it says either Today or Yesterday), and other places

Yeah it can be changed IIRC.

Not individually though, i had a look, there are no options. Maybe it can be done centrally so it applies to everyone.
