Danny Levi requests a release

Would like to see what Woolford has to offer. A rotation of Slade and Woolford could be very good, assuming they can stay on the park.

Being the salary cap experts that we are here how much are we assuming Levi is on 350k at least this year and next?

Yeah I wouldn’t be bothered letting him walk. His game has gotten progressively worse behind a bigger forward pack. Too many balls thrown to ground and too many pointless dummy half scoots. I just hope we look for a specialist hooker and not resort to Mann.

I've read since Sunday how bad Levi was with some going as far to blame him for our defeat. I know stats don't always paint the true picture but Levi v Titans 4 runs/33m, 3 dummy half runs including 1 barge over attempt/24m, 36 tackles @ 97.3 efficiency, 1 line break, 1 error, 1 penalty conceded. I often wonder if we all watch a different game especially since Herman has been given credit for his effort. 24m/3 runs, 15 tackles @ 88%, 1 missed tackle, 1 ineffective tackle. 1 thing I can't accuse Levi of is not having a go. Wish I could say the same about a few more.

Yeah it's funny Levi copping it. All these hooking experts need to spend even 20 minutes in the middle and see how demanding it is. Sometimes you just can't hide and it's clear this knights side doesn't know how to shield anyone. The bloke just needs to do him with better communication. It's just hard for Levi because the ruck is a lot slower which takes his advantages away.

Gotta find a whipping boy. Logic is rarely used when said whipping boy is selected.

Kind of like watching one of our games and seeing a solid performance by Sione than the stats come out and he’s the worst player ever.

Waffle waffle couldn't play a lick will happily critique or praise as I see fit.

I thought Ese’ese brought plenty of energy when he came on, tried to smash a few blokes and his line speed was quick. It’s a shame really because Brown is using him terribly. Based on last year alone it really should be:

8. Klemmer
10. Ese’ese

But Brown’s just gonna keep persisting with the same plods so ah well.

Levi effort is great,
Its the selfish play in him that has killed our ruck on multiple occasions that's turned my attention towards his inability to be a player that is in it for the greater good of the team.

His attitude of wanting to leave showed his self indulging temperament and now its showing on field, surely thats a toxic mindset thats rubbing off on others.

Meh, the entire team is struggling and it doesnt take long for the lynch mob to start tying nooses.

Last season Pearce did well in dally m points, this season he has struggled. Didn't take long for blokes to write his name on the gallows.

Levi is another easy target, Sione is out of the squad so have to find someone to pin the majority of the blame on. Levi's dummy half runs are his best asset, he tends to pick good times to go for a scoot I believe and often catches markers off side, though this year penalties are like gold.

He probably tried the barge over last game out of frustration, he gave the halves plenty of chances and they couldn't get the job done.

Let's wait till the team is firing again, then see what we think of his performance before lynching him wh.

You point out that our dominant half in Pearce is struggling, yet cant see that his been given the ball with zero time to be able to keep the play in mind going as planed, even during general kicking Pearce is getting the ball and having to rush the kick away while getting belted.

If you can connect my view point on Levi "who's job is to get the ball from out of the ruck quickly and send it to the intended person"
With our attack being upto chit atm as well as our very good "on paper" forward pack being dominated the picture is in HD.

Billy brought up Bedsy style of play as a hooker,
Bedsy was a dominant hooker who would control the tempo of a game from the ruck, if we were on the front foot, bedsy would speed up the ruck service and take minimal steps out before passing but would run to keep the D second guessing.

If we were on the back foot, Bedsy would slow down the ruck service and take those steps out before passing to hold up the speed of the game so we could try regain our breath and get some momentum back.

Look at Cam Smith, like Bedsy, the speed of the game and control of it is all done by him, when the storm are on the back foot, he takes those same 1-2 step outs before passing to hold up the game.

Levi is doing this 1-2 step outs 2-3 times a set from the kick off which isnt game management, its poor awareness and selfish play.

Passing the ball to a forward close to the line on a hit up is hardly something Levi has thought up, it's a common ploy to get the ball to a forward right at the line and hopefully get them through the D line.

Pearce gets the ball with enough time in most instances to get his play options sorted, it's a long bow to draw pinning our attacking woes on Levi.

Pearce gets belted when kicking as we only have one player kicking, makes it real easy to locate him and get a defender bolting for him. I wish our D did the same to opposition kickers but they be too lazy most of the time.

Pearce could also stand a little deeper for kicks to receive the ball with a bit more time.

Obviously passes that forwards have to stop or reach behind to catch and lose momentum arnt counted as errors but they cost us games none the less, last weeks game was the worst I have seen from Levi.
Or passes that are thrown after a couple of steps so that when our forwards catch the ball the opposition are already right in there faces . They are not errors as well but imo they are .
NONE of this sort of thing happened when Griffin was playing , it all starts with Danny and he is playing his worst footy ever and we are paying for it .

This crap about Levi being the whipping boy well imo he deserves it all get rid of him and buy a good hooker. Danny has had his chance and just isn't up to it ...Everybody saw the difference between Griffin and Danny , the gap is huge .

I expect Sione to spend some time at hooker soon. That'll leave half back as the only position Brown hasn't asked him to play. 99% of people at the start of last year thought Levi got the team on the front foot better than Slade but was nowhere near the defender. Levi had to work on his defence. 2 games ago he made 53 tackles. Last week 36 tackles at 97% efficiency. Arguably the most improved defender in the team. Brown said Danny needs to be a team player. He's dramatically reduced his running from dummy half so now the argument is we need more from Levi. Anyone who thinks Levi is solely responsible for any one of our losses obviously has a problem with the bloke because they couldn't have watched our games. Hopefully Levi gets to play under a decent coach that can get the best out of him.
