Newcastle Knights after the Cowboy virus.

Chasing Clint Zammit. Him and Green have fallen out and this guy is a top top scout.

Anyone and everyone you see in FG from the Cowboys system dating back to when Taumalolo was signed as a 13 year old in NZ is because of Zammit.

One of if not the best talent scout in the nation.

The virus has landed in Newcastle (not literally as he is staying in Queensland and will try to steal North Queensland’s best from under our noses).

As reported by the in the know guy on the Cowboys forum weeks ago. He also hinted at Green’s sacking in the week leading up as well as many other things. Andre Ponga for example.

(Good to see my little shadow be the only reply in this thread).

As long as it’s not the hammer I don’t care.

Zammit is a scout. Got a great eye for 13-15 year olds and getting them into the system.

Keep the hammer. We will take noone from your current system, it's all shambles.

I think your organisation needs a Newcastle style clean out. They just lack the "glue" of a modern team. If you get some fresh ideas maybe you might start getting results. Cleanout has started in green. Who's next?

The best new name I can think of for next version of the Cowgirls, is the Perth Pirates!

I mean we only just won the schoolboys title last year but it’s a shambles you say

It’s currently a shambles due to Green’s inability to move on from past success. The juniors and talent is there and that’s thanks to Zammit. Too little too late in getting rid of Green as the damage was done and Zammit looked elsewhere. (Same poster on Cowboys forum said there was bad blood between Zammit and Green).

Schoolboys isn't an nrl squad. Those players will take years to develop. I'm talking next 12 months, finding a coach and getting rid of the deadwood you currently have......O'Neill, Granville etc. Hopefully the salary cap is in some sort of structure and nothing like ours was.

Thats not Zammits role. His role is to identify the 13-15 year olds and get them into the system. You said our system is a shambles as it’s evidently not because of what Zammits done. Of the current crop of youth in the NRL squad it’s there for all to see. Hammer, Cotter, Hola, Gilbert, Taulagi, Pere all junior reps. There are more but you get the point. Zammit with his fingerprints in getting all of them signed.

Cotter will come on massively over the next year or two injuries permitted. He hardly played a game for 2-3 years due to multiple ACL injuries. He is a gun.

Too many to rattle off. You only need to have a look at the quality of Cowboys juniors at other clubs right now.

He played a part in poaching from the Broncos.

He is very good at spotting the 13-16 years olds and getting them into the academy.

He also has an eye for talent when at carnivals. Taulagi and Gilbert for example who both played tonight were picked up from a rugby schools carnival.

Plucked Kikau out from Fiji for example.

That’s his nickname. Not sure where or how he got it.

The story about him bringing in Tuala was an interesting read as well.

    https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...X1Lle2NFfXW7UlzoJzPox-zguGhZe5kNYDnHWfDhdrCXc

His dad tipped him off about Enari Tuala having knowing Tuala's dad through being neighbours. Who recommended his son.

The younger Zammit then went and watched the younger Tuala at a schoolboys carnival when he was 15 or so and signed him up 24 hours later.

Said he was far from a finished product, but saw plenty where he could develop into a first grade footballer. Which is usually the case with boys in that age group, and as mentioned you develop them in your system.

Funny how things work out sometimes.
