Wonder whether we'd offer Musgrove another chance, maybe a train and trial over the pre-season?

    SEA EAGLES LOSE YOUNG GUN

Manly have suffered a setback with new signing Brayden Musgrove set to quit the club before he even plays a game in his new colours.

Word out of the northern peninsula is that Musgrove, a promising centre/winger from Newcastle, is having trouble settling into the Sydney lifestyle and has a bad case of homesickness.

The Sea Eagles signed Musgrove after he performed solidly in the Canterbury Cup this year, having overcome a serious knee injury.

The 21-year-old hails from Cessnock - the same town that produced Knights legends Andrew and Matthew Johns.

He doesn't have a contract with the Knights for 2020 but may be thrown a lifeline by the club.

He always seems like a guy who has the talent but just doesn't enjoy playing football and just goes through the motions.
I've never seen what coaches see in him.

I think it is part of the reason modern league has gone the way it has with a lot of players looking similar on the field. He has the physical attributes and the coach backs himself that he can train heart and smarts in to him. The thinking is the opposite of the thinking that would allow a Luke Yates to flourish in our game. We might be seeing a resurgence of the pure footballer with what the Raiders are doing bringing over English players of all shapes and sizes who haven't had the football coached out of then over here.

Nicely said Owey, would be nice to see some footballers instead of athletes running drills like we have presently.

I remember Eagles fans were talking **** about the Knights when this signing saying they poached one of their best juniors. Good times
