Word is he was having an argument with his partner.... so he decided to throw a rock at her head.

^Also love the exclamation mark in the heading haha
Who's shocked that Barba is in hot water again after his third stint in the NRL? Eh

Another alcohol induced incident no doubt. I know many people can enjoy a drink but there are lots that can’t. Especially you g men with lots of money and ego.

Said it before ~ leopards never change their spots! All players have contractual clauses concerning drinking and behaviour.

Footballers and booze is a poor mixture like petrol and water.

What a stupid muppet. That needs to be him done forever. No more 4th and 5th chances, especially to those who abuse women! NRL should draw a line in the sand and say he’s never playing League in Australia again. Look at the grief Todd got and all he did was drink his own ****. Poor fellow was thirsty!

I know a lot of people don't like Weilder but he wrote a bit about Barba's return that he was actually doing well being back in the NRL (despite his past he got a glowing endorsement from the ESL) and had been keeping himself out of trouble up until that incident. Sounds like it was just a brain snap that let to it all happening. It just seems some blokes can't handle the drink/have anger/drug issues and he's one of them. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on what way you look at it it was out there publicly for it to be seen but at least there is nothing to cover up this time.

Was his family with him in UK? Thinking that might be an issue but then could be so far wrong, my apologies if so.

Nah nothing about his family or anything, his ESL club gave him a good reference during his time there despite the Cowboys being wary about his past indiscretions in the NRL. I mean those indiscretions were the reason why he had to go there lol.

Questionable reputation catching up with him is probably a good headline for it all lol

It’s great to see DV perpetrators being forced out of our game. Hopefully it might make some players think before they hit their wives/girlfriends. The NRL needs to remove the players who repeatedly assault their partners or take drugs from the game.

It's harsh punishment rubbing out a footballer from ever playing again, no chance of reform or forgiveness, especially when they're a highly talented, entertaining footballer like Barba. But 100% it will make players think twice, if they know a life ban & ruining their career is on the cards if they're found guilty of assaulting women, they will stop doing it. Those who don't will get rubbed out of the game. The only way to stop something is by making the punishments so severe that they have no choice.

It is not harsh punishment Joshhh. This grub has had chance after chance and for one I was amazed Peter Parr and the Cowboys actually signed up a parcel of gelignite just waiting for a few grogs to be the detonator.
