First test starts tomorrow night Aus time.

England are definite favourites but I don't think we should be written off just yet. Our bowling attack is better than theirs just need a few batsman to stand up and fight with Clarke.

Your attack has no swing ... in their conditions England's is the better attack.

Getting Cook out early was a highlight...

Confident we can snare 1-2 more wickets before the tea break :D

If Siddle is getting late movement like this I'd hate to see what Anderson is going to do to our batting line-up.... It would have to be up there as the worst top 5-6 batting order in Australia's history. Lucky Clarke is there to score 50 every inning.

Siddle with another one... Couldn't buy a wicket in the last couple months and is now on fire.

Enjoy it while it lasts. I'm going to have pre-emptive nightmares tonight just thinking about what Anderson is going to do to us. Just gotta hope the sun is out shining on day 2.

Hope your right and the sun is out but I don't think it will be...

Hopefully With Watson, Rogers and Clarke all being in great form they can withstand the challenge that James Anderson will pose...

That partnership was looking dangerous for Australia...

Great captaincy by Clarke to bring Siddle back on and he got the Wicket in his first over of the new spell..

Siddle has ripped through the English top order, He has figures of 4/49

    England - 5/178 :D

    - - - Updated - - -

    PRIOR IS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    England now 6/180

Siddle now has figures of 5/49

What a great opening day for Australia :D

What a great performance from the Aussies...

If we can get 350+ in our first Innings we will be in complete control of this game...

It will be tough though, Good conditions for bowling and England have a superb Bowling Attack...

    - - - Updated - - -

Nice agressive start from Australia...0/9 after 2 overs with Watson hitting 2 beautiful cover drives to the boundary...

    Watson - 9 (11)

    Rogers - 0 (1)

    - - - Updated - - -

First Wicket falls in the 3rd over....

Watson attempts another drive but edges it straight to Root at 3rd slip...

    Watson out for 13

Second Wicket now falls Cowan gone for a duck...

    Steven Finn on a hat-trick Australia 2/19....

That my friends is why Ed Cowan should never of been selected

    Clarke now in....

    - - - Updated - - -

No Hat-trick for Finn but he has started his spell brilliantly I must say...

Australia need a good partnership here...

    - - - Updated - - -

Anderson Looking dangerous too...Bad signs for Australia early

    - - - Updated - - -

Australia are collapsing in a heap here...

Clarke out for 0 clean bowled by Anderson...

    Australia 3/23....

It was fun while it lasted

Thank God for Steve Smith, Great fighting Knock from him...

The scores look a lot like the England NZ series from a month or so ago so far. The Duke balls this year are swinging like nobodies business ... possibly deliberate since the Ashes are being played!

Our batting is never going to score 350+ I don't think.

But to bowl them out for 215 is a good effort.

I will be happy if Australia can just get cloe to 200 in the first Innings...

If they do get 200 they are right in this game :)

Yep was always going to happen as soon as Siddle was getting late movement. I'd just about bet my whole bank account on Hughes not lasting till drinks in the first session. Can't play swing and can't play spin.. Unfortunately for him he is up against possibly the best for each of those in the world.

Why Kwahaja continually gets overlooked is mind boggling. He is by far our 2nd best if not the best technically gifted batsmen we have at the moment.

    Talk about the tail wagging...

Australia were 9/117 when Ahston Agar came in at number 11...

They are now 9/178 With Agar 43* Not out on debut !!!

    Hughes 38* Not Out

All of a sudden Australia only trail by 37

    - - - Updated - - -

Ashton Agar scores 50 on debut from 50 Balls, He has hit 7 fours and 1 six...

Not bad for a 19yo kid coming in at number 11

Fantastic efort by Agar, and Hughes is rock solid against a ball that is still swinging a bit.
The bad news is that might mean the devils are out of the pitch and the poms could post a big score.
