Just read an article that the Titans are shopping Ash Taylor around and could pay up to $500,000 of his salary next year for a club to take him. Thoughts???

Yeah would be a good change for him. He’s hit rock bottom really. Probably only give him a year but.

Could solve our 5/8 problem next year with a long term look at replacing Mitchell when he is ready to retire. But you are right risky to give him anymore than 1 or 2 year contract.

He is a player with great potential who would go well in a good system with a good coach.
I don't think Brown is the right coach for him.

We are desperate for a half though and he could benifit from playing 2nd fiddle to someone like Pearce.

He is signed for the next 2 years at $1mil, so a club would have to take him for both. If the Titans are only willing to pay 500k for 2020 then the club is stuck with him on $1mil for 2021.

Would be a massive gamble. Thats a big chunk of change on a player that may never find form again, would need to be in the right environment to get that form back and I just don't think Brown has the runs on the board bringing the best out of his players.

He would certainly fill the gap at 5/8 nicely if he were playing decent footy, but if he isn't may as well stick with Lino.

    Too big a risk.

Bloke is apparently totally out of shape and addicted to playing Fortnite.

With the amount of bad attitudes we seem to have does that sounds like a good idea?

He certainly has the talent IMO, but too much risk I think. Not sure if he will have his head in the right space if he comes here. Also not convinced that we will get better value out of his fairly sizeable contract (even assuming the Titans throw in a fair chunk) than we would with someone less high-profile, such as those we already have, or someone like Tyrone Roberts (for example).

Moot point, Barry Toohey keeps saying they're not signing a half for 2020, signings will be Brailey, Capewell probably and an outside back to replace Ramien.
Any other free spots in the Top 30 will be the development guys from this year I imagine. Star Toa already confirmed to be Top 30 next year.

Unfortunately the Titans are a career suicide club at the moment. He should of stayed at the Broncos, much higher chance of success there.

Taylor would only work if Pearce was out - they are both organisers who want to run the show.
I don't think they would work together.

I'd rather see Searle and Crossland get told one of them will be the 5/8 next year and they have the entire preseason and trials to train and compete for the job.

Personaly I hope Searle goes to another level and gets the job. Seems like a good running half who can kick and pass.

    Pass.

500k (or adjusted for salary cap inflation) would be okay three years ago when we had an injured and inconsistent halves pairing of Mullen and Hodko who were on their way out but not know.
