2026 Recruitment And Retention

I actually think Fletcher hunt is incredibly talented and can see him playing for Australia in a couple of years. His a bloody good footballer. It’s his first actual preseason and he looks dangerous. Just needs to get the **** out of his game.
Agreed, I can definitely see our Fletcher's and Dylan's being a big part of our team going forth. Hes a year younger than Sharpe and has a ton of potential. Hopefully Schiller ups his game.

I can’t see Schiller in our top 17. But he’s an ok backup. I think Enair Tulsa is a slightly better player. Neither of them are close to Dom Young.

Our wing depth is great. I think they are all quality. The issue is they are all prone to massive brain snaps. But my honest view is Schiller has it all IF he actually focuses. He is fast, powerful and athletic in equal measure. Dom we all love. He is a great finisher. No debate.

Fletcher Hunt I think has a mortgage on centre replacing gags. Has solid reads in defence and solid assists to his winger. Big lad for 19 who will only continue growing.

Aiden Gow and Sosaia Latu and potentially Mel Nonu will be long term wingers.

The dude made a 50m line break against the dogs and held his own against Crichton for a half of footy he actually played well. Crichton will dominate most centres this year.
His a pretty bad centre. He exists and tries his best but sometimes your best isn't good enough for such a position. Wing or left right out for Wilso. Happy to be proven wrong.

He had a poor game defensively on Saturday that’s for sure. Very harsh to write him off based on that though. He’s a 20 year old kid who’s played no First Grade called into the side late to mark the games best centre. It’s a pretty daunting task.

What De Courcey did really well on the wing last year was compete for the ball.
Hastings knew that De Courcey was going to run hard and compete like hell if he put up a kick, and time after time the pressure would lead to loose balls, and De Courcey would swoop on them like a seagull on a chip and score a try.
He doesn't do that at centre for some reason.

In saying "he doesn't do that at centre for some reason" based on two trial games at centre, one against the best damn centre in the game and the top defensive team of 2025... I think it's a guy we just have to wait and see how he develops and not make opinions up too early... Just like we all did with players like King, Crossland and Meaney or do we want to not learn from that ever?

How many tries did Crichton score on the weekend?

The fact people feel the need to talk about a kid defending at centre for the first time at senior level, and expecting a flawless performance, shows the disconnect many Knights fans have with reality. It’s the same old negative garbage being regurgitated. This is a very talented young football side in the making. They are still at the crawling stage. It took years to get them here in the first instance. Sully is acutely aware the vultures are waiting now there are 60 new contracts up for grabs over the next 24 months. It is kids like De Courcey Perth and PNG are going to target.
