2025 Season

So sharks try to exact same play 3 times in a row. Sua faalogo knocks it down twice. 3rd takes an intercept. Sharks can't be serious thinking anything else was going to happen.

Ricky Stuart sticks it to the media & Dragons fans on social media over the treatment of Kyle Flanagan. Good on him.

IDK why Flanagan gets portrayed as a terrible player when he's a very good player. Yeah, not the superstar Origin player that some (the Roosters) thought he might be...but a solid defender, great goal kicker, steers his team around the park effectively, always competes, regularly scores tries just through backing up etc. Not every player is going to be Jehrome Hughes or Nathan Cleary.

Also, Ricky makes the point that there's a person on the other end of the abuse who has a family. I think maybe we're all a bit hard on individual players at times.

That’s because Flanagan is terrible and is holding the Dragons back. No real surprise and it’s only now where the media is catching on when people have been saying he’s been ordinary for quite some time.
Actually amazing he’s been protected for this long actually…

I can't agree with that at all. He's certainly not alone in why the Dragons are struggling or keeping anyone out of the side who would be doing better. Ricky credited him with being why the Dragons stormed back last night.

I think the wider issue is that the media loves a bandwagon because it creates interest, but that can be significantly damaging.

It seems like its caused a divide in the team trying to destabilise things with him being guaranteed to be picked regardless of performance. He’s just not a 7. Everyone but his dad knows it. Would not be a 7 at any other team as mentioned today.

I compare to King Toia who looks like something will happen every time he touches the ball, and looks threatening every time he runs it or breaks a tackle in comparison.

The sooner they accept he’s a bench utility that can carve out a role there the better. It seems the management are already onto it. Sexton would have been a nice fit if he didn’t get picked up by the ESL.

I just saw that Tristan Hope is named at 9 for the Tigers today. I’ll have to watch a bit of that game today now to see how he goes.
I used to work with his old man years ago and, if I hadn’t gotten another apprenticeship, would’ve started a business with him.
Talk about a blast from the past.
