2025 pre season thread

Finished the season in career best form, but showed up to pre-season las year like he hadn't got off the coach since the last season ended.
All those young guys will be 6 weeks into fitness work before Marz even shows up, so he'll have a battle on his hands if he hasn't done any work between now and then.

Marz is a confidence player, his confidence was high by mid to late season. Mentally and physically he was strong.

Hopefully learnt from this yr to come back better for start of preseason.
 
Unfit he deserves a spot, just, but fully fit and confident he is a must, his improvement was noticeable, his actual challenging for kicks, his awareness to be in position and his willingness to take the hit ups, yes he has minuses but his pluses far out way them
 
It’s stuff like how Marzhew has performed for us that has me convinced AOB is a good coach.

It’s hard to overstate how much of a liability he was at the Titans. He was unplayable. For us he’s irreplaceable at the minute. We want him in the team for what he can do rather than keep him out for his weaknesses - his strengths have been maximised and weaknesses minimised.

It’s not a million miles away from Blore, Katoa at Wests/Wahs vs at Melbourne.

Also… Dom played better for us than he has for Easts. I know he has the same numbers etc but if you actually watch the games a lot of stuff has crept into his game which wasn’t there with us (or if it was, it wasn’t as bad) and they’re causing problems for them.

And I’d hope if his fitness was a problem at the start of last season after playing for Samoa, that the coaching staff will have anticipated that for 2025 and make adjustments to what he does on return. Seems like the type of thing AOB would be on top of.
