No at our stage we should be aiming to have a gun at every position guy tries his guts out but doesn't have the size or the tools for the game he tries to play.
There is such a thing called a salary cap. B Jones is also the same size as frizell height wise. Brodie's kit bag is a lot bigger then what we see and he needs to start using it. We may aswell not debut anybody and only get blokes with 100+ games to their names. 🙄

Sa bare with me here boys if this is a stupid q. But here goes if Pearce isn’t signed for 23 and Crossland looking unlikely to get a contract who will be 7 in 23. Do you think they’re pinning there hopes on Clifford at 7 Ponga at 6 and Hodgson at 1. What are you guys thinking?

We put a lot of effort into Zane Camroux last off season. He trained with firstgrade the entire pre season and even missed half the under 19s season so he could play firstgrade trials. As soon as under 19s were over they were naming him in the halves in reserve grade, even though his defence wasn't quite up to standard for seniors yet. He has a quality kicking game, kicks goals, and also a quality running game. He just looks like 6 months in the gym would be the minimum for him to play seniors next year.

Not against it but a risky plan for me. We will go back to a 1 genuine kicker again. Have you seen Hodgson play is he the goods

You never know till guys actually play seniors.
Beau Henry was the next big thing when we bought him, and it took about 10 minutes of getting smashed by firstgrade props to end his career.
Camroux looked like he could take a hit in reserve grade at least.

Crossland is going to be re-signed for next year.

Paul Kent just said on Fox that Penrith are shopping Kikau around for next year.
Sims is free to leave Dragons.

Sounds like there will be some big moves in the offseason.
Hopefully we get something good out of it.

Cowboys have shown interest in getting Kikau back. Apparently his asking price is 900k.

That’s a weird move for Penrith given Capewell is off too. Leaves them with a back row of, what, Sorensen & Martin? Bleh. They must have some good kid coming through…

$900k is ridiculous IMO.
He is to inconsistent for my liking.
Hasn't been playing 80mins either.

But a player is worth what ever someone is willing to pay.
Cowboys might feel they need to go big to get a backrower after missing Capewell and Finucane.

Are Cows looking at getting Sims back?

Who are the best players at clubs who have zero chance of winning the Premiership? That’s where I think we need to look. I reckon Holmes from NQ would be a massive boost. He’s been swapped in an out positions throughout the year, is on massive overs, wasn’t brought in by the current coach and now has the hammer taking his spot.

I’d be happy to play him at FB, Kalyn to halves, Mitch moved on. We get a better goal kicker and player who can score trys.

Clifford and Ponga can run the team.

We are not winning it with Pearce

Holmes has been terrible at fullback.

Looking strictly at players without a chance of premiership success, I think either Jamayne Isaako (at FB) or Chanel Harris-Tavita (at HB) would be the best pickups of that bunch. They wouldn't be first choice though if we signed them, nor do I think we should chase them hard, if at all.
