The Knights have zero interest and zero chance of getting Widdop.
    Hope this helps

Who cares what the Knights say. I’ll reserve judgement until Jimmy Hooper gives his 2 cents.

He said he's staying in England... Must be a slow news day in NRL.

All this talk of smaller lock forwards makes me wonder if we could get Kurtis Dark back for a train and trial next year.
He is an 80 minute, hard working lock forward who has a range of skills that have seen him used as a hooker and even a halfback
He is about Cam Murray sized and is always trying to run lines and make breaks.
He also kicks goals at about 90%. He was easily the best goalkicker in NYC 2 years ago and won us two of three games where we scored less tries.
We let him go because he was too small for middle forward, but things change.

Good to see the club serious about signing a 5/8 and not playing a year with the revolving 5/8 show again.

Clifford won't be a automatic selection at 5/8 under O'Brien.
Brown would have promised him the spot and he'd get it for at least 3 months no matter how he went, but under O'Brien he'll have to train better than Crossland and Hoy.

If Pearce doesn't improve I wouldn't mind seeing
    6.Crossland
    7.Clifford

Although it seems strange that the Cowboys would let their best half go and sign Benji Marshall.

Cowboys let Ponga and Tuala go.

What I find strange is the cowboys recruitment guy (Clint Zammit) works for us now. He'll be letting Bradman Best go next week.

I thought Zammit was more of a scout than a list manager. He'd get guys in to the system then the footy department would spit them out.

I think this signing would be massive for us. I can't see why the cowboys would let him go either. He came through with massive raps then stalled under Green. I know Payten is an old mate of Benji's, but surely you'd back yourself to get the best out of the young guy rather than take Marshall for 1 to 2 years. Did he think Clifford and Drinkwater were just too inexperienced together? Where does Benji leave Morgan? I just feel we are finishing way in front on this one.

Morgan hasn't done much the past 2 or 3 years.

Tbh i havent got my hopes up, sounds to good to be true imo. I mean telegraph has been saying all this dribble about widdop coming and Pearce leaving as well. So much goss that my head is spinning. Although this definitely seems a more plausible signing. If he comes and improves as much as tuala, he could be in for a big year. Cowboys are becoming the new tigers with losing young talent.

They were Green decisions though, and CBM will at least attest to Tuala being a mistake..

Strange that the new coach would cut Clifford. A halves rotation of Morgan, Hampton and Dinks is hardly getting the juices flowing I wouldn't have thought.
