First signing for 2020 Flegg was mentioned in Toohey's News today.
Jake O'Meley is the son of test prop Mark O'Meley. He is a 19 year old prop who is pretty short, but built like a brick outhouse. He played under 18s for the Roosters in 2018 and was a wrecking ball when he came off the bench.
His older brother, Nick O'Meley, played 5/8 in the Knights under 16s in 2014 alongside players like Jones, Saulo, Starling, Musgrove and Hudson Young. This year he played some reserve grade for the Roosters, but mostly played for Wyong.
Talking of Wyong, Jake O'Meley played for Wyong this year.

Anyway, our middle forwards for Flegg in 2020 should include Jake O'Meley, Jaron Purcell, Daniel Ticehurst, Christian Maanamia and Tom Baker with second rowers like Harry Croker and Cooper Jenkins, which makes it a very strong pack despite losing Matt Croker, Talty and Russell to reserve grade.

We look set for forwards next year. Watene is young enough to play Flegg next year as well, and Hamilton might be as well.
Backs look to be a problem. Worley and Rasiga and Hoy are all too old, and I think Grant Anderson might be too. Toby Marks is young enough I think, but he already seems to be a reserve grade regular.
Timanu Alexander is young enough I think.
In a perfect world we'd have Toa, Best, Marks, Alexander, Sasagi, Crossland and Searle as our backline in Flegg, but all of those should be playing seniors - 3 or 4 of them in firstgrade.

Best possible under 20s selection for next year.

    1 Starford Toa
    2 Toby Marks
    3 Bradman Best
    4 Timanu Alexander
    5 Grant Anderson?
    6 Pheonix Crossland
    7 Bayden Searle
    8 Daniel Ticehurst
    9 Mitchell Black
    10 Jake O'Meley
    11 Cooper Jenkins
    12 Nesta Watene
    13 Jaron Purcell

    14 Simi Sasagi
    15 Christian Ma'amania
    16 Tom Baker
    17 Harry Croker

    18 Dylan Lucas
    19 Louis Hamilton
    20 Issac Lee

It won't surprize me if all of those play mostly seniors next year. Most of them will probably start out in seniors for round 1.

We have picked up Kayal Iro on a 20s contract too. Cool Islands rep and of great breeding stock, son of Kevin, one of the great centres of the late '80s early 90s. Plays centre, fullback and wing himself.

Be interesting to see how the big Fijian goes on the wing.
I think he was a giant prop last year.

Interesting to see Sasagi at the back. They must think he’s going to be a big ball running fullback. I could see him at centre down the line personally. Hopefully he’s good under the high ball.

He didn't look very safe under a high ball in the firstgrade trial, but that won't be a problem in Flegg, because no one in their right mind will be kicking to him. Imagine giving that guy the ball with a bit of room to move when you don't have to.

Due to the depth in the side, a few have been cut.
Now back playing for Ipswich Jets. Kahli Kali and Onosai Auina for Easts Tigers.

We could have used him last week. Apparently our forwards got dominated by the Roosters.
