2020 Harold Matts and SG Ball

I remember we had two outside backs named Williams in the lower grades years ago, Simon and Mitch. They weren't related either.
One of them, Simon Williams, would have played firstgrade if he had any lateral movement in defence. He was as hard as a rock and anyone who ran at him got smashed, but if you ran 3 foot either side of him he didn't move an inch and never got a hand on you. Great attacking player though.

Simon was the kid they showed on 4 Corners at the forum about NRL player's attitudes to woman & he copped a bit of flack for his comments which went to air.

He ended up in the Real NRL mainly at Wests & Central. He was a great attacking player & scored a heap of tries.

Good to see Noah Ryan make the squad, even if just the new position of HIA replacement (or whatever they are calling it). He'd actually be good for that because he can cover any backline position or halves, so if any of those guys go off HIA we are still good.

Our first home game of the year and it's against the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are top of the table in Mathews and a win over them would be a big effort.
In Ball, the Bulldogs and Knights are equal 2nd on the table and are both unbeaten with 1 drawn game each - both have 5 out of a possible 6 points after 3 rounds. Both teams have played the West coast Pirates in WA. The Bulldogs beat them by nearly 40, and we beat them by nearly 60. The 2 standout sides in under 16s last year were the Knights and Bulldogs, but we beat them 3 times, including in the first final game and the grandfinal.
I like that Pezet and Ryan are back together in the halves. They were a great combination in Mathews in 2018, and they have Kodi Crowther back on the wing. Ryan and Crowther had a deadly combination going in 2018 - long cutout pass from Ryan to Crowther was our go to try scoring move.

Big match up for Ethan Ferguson or Elijah Faalua against Paul Alamoti. Good luck to whoever get's the job.

"SG Ball
Knights 48 (Nailagoliva 2, Williams, Toloi, Uhrle, Pezet, Radzievic, Nean) def. Bulldogs 18

The SG Ball side pulled off a second consecutive big win downing the previously ladder-leaders, the Bulldogs thanks to eight converted tries.

Despite the first half being a real arm-wrestle, the Knights managed to scrape ahead at the break with a 12-point lead before then putting their opposition to the sword with four more tries to the Bulldogs’ one.

Hooker Noah Nailagoliva shone with two tries to his name, while halfback Jonah Pezet again contributed with a heap of points, this week scoring 20 after scoring a try along with a flawless, eight-from-eight record from the kicking tee.

The team now sit on the top of the ladder and will meet the Dragons in Sydney next Saturday."

This group of players were record breaking in Mathews last year and are now getting on a roll in Ball.

I see Chris Vea'ila was a late withdrawal last week and is still out. Radzievic is a very different style of fullback - Vea'ila is a big, tall hardrunning guy, and Logan is a small, slippery running guy, but both are very good.
We need to win this one. It's one we should win easily (1st v 12th), but sometimes in juniors it's this sort of game the boys don't get up for. Saints have lost against Manly and the Bulldogs, who we drew with and beat, so on form we should win easily.
