8-10 to Bulldogs with 4 minutes to go - looks like another last minute loss.

Baydon Searle in his 3rd game of reserve grade topped the fantasy points with 67. ran 152 metres as a halfback, kicked 410 metres, made 24 tackles but missed 6, also a line break and a try assist.

Searle has had 3 games of reserve grade and is averaging over 50 fantasy points, runs over 100 metres per game, kicks about 300 metres per game and about 25 tackles per game.
Crossland averages 33 fantasy points, 55 running metres, kicks about 200 metres and about 20 tackles a game.
Searle is missing a lot more tackles than Crossland, but not more than Crossland missed in his first 3 games of reserve grade.

Searle is a player from the central West who was playing in a senior country comp last year. He is a tall, skinny kid who looks like he's never been in a gym. The only thing that impressed me about him in the early rounds of under 20s is that he gets stuck in in defence. He gets right in the middle and chases forwards to tackle.

Him and Crossland are the same age. Crossland has been getting elite level coaching since he was 14 and has been the best 7 of his agegroup in NSW for the last 4 or 5 years. Searle has been getting elite level coaching for 3 or 4 months and comes from Dubbo I think.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Could see them both next game as 6 & 7 unless Mann is moved pushing Lino out.

Searleā€™s kicking game is pretty impressive and looks like a good organiser. Played the house down against Manly a few weeks back.

Why do you reckon they keep playing Hoy in the centres Billy? Is he a better centre than FB or is there no one else?

I think it's because he is no chance of playing fullback in firstgrade now, with Ponga and Watson 1st and second choice, but if Moga doesn't work out, he's probably our next best centre option at the moment.
In short, he's getting used to playing where we might need him for firstgrade.

6-6 poor kick from Lino, made to look good by a great leap from Andrews to steal a try.
