2018 halves combination

I'm happy either way.
For the 2018 season we really need a firstgrade ready half if we are going to have a chance.
Long term, we have the players we need, they just aren't ready yet.

Billy, you are right - to be serious if we can afford “a Cronk type once in a generation player” we should go after them to help our youth . The word is Cronk is after a 2 year deal , the junior ranks you mentioned should be better phsycologically and mentally under his tutelage to make a real impact by then

Give him a chance scaleybugs, surely the kid's luck has gotta change.

Intertesting to read most commentators think the Roosters will be able to 'fit' Cronk in under the salary cap without shedding anyone. Ha ha bloody ha!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pearce defect to sharks IF Cronk signs a 2 year deal with the roosters. This could set up a Maloney to knights option.

Such lunacy in rl these days. Why let maloney go to have cronk for two years max.

I can understand the transit lounge being interested as they would sell their grandmother if it benefit them. And pearce isnt exactly getting the job done for them.

But maloney won the premiership for the sharks.

No loyalty to contracts from either players or clubs these days.

There's a small window to win a premiership, the Sharks obviously believe they are in that window & Cronk is a better player than Maloney, giving them a greater chance. If it works, then everyone calls them geniuses. Simple as that, premierships are the end game.

If Cronk stayed at storm or retired no problems.
If Cronk goes to roosters and they retain all four, 3 halves and hooker can't see any of them playing reserve grade, even bench so it means a very highly priced high profile player misses out, can't see it happening, can't see any of them moving on.
If Cronk goes anywhere it will be to another club and if he wants to remain in contention for winning comp then it will be Sharks or Eels in my opinion, not Panthers or Souths and most definately not Knights.
Then again logic against footballers and money, what would I know.

They will probably waste a season with the team learning to play with cronk. So 1 year window.

Maloney has already proven he can get them to a premiership.

Apparently the Rorters were $200K under the cap this year, which allowed them to front end some contracts for 2018??????;):brickwall:
Nikorima is on $350K and will go back to the Bronco's!
Cronk will play half, Pearce will move to 6 and Keary will play off the bench.
Aaaahhh the good ole' salary cap!:applause:
I wonder how much Uncle Nick's private salary cap is??????????:fist:
