It hard to watch the Indians shred our bowling attack.

How the once mighty Australian cricket team has fallen!

Indian wicketkeeper batting 6 and a spinner batting 7 put on 203 off 225 balls. Now what will our batsmen be able to do on a flat, featureless wicket which is a disgrace to the SCG?

I don't know about that 'fallen' Lefty. If Paine had got the toss things may have been different. What is a disgrace is Cricket Australia allowing the crap state of pitches around the country. Let's boot these hairy arsed AFL footy mugs off cricket grounds.

Perth was described as 'satisfactory' MCG as 'poor' and this one deserves 'atrocious'.

If we had won the toss and batted would we have made 300+, 400+ and maybe 500 and batted virtually 2 days, we will never know but passed performances suggest 250-300 in a day maybe a bit and India to bat second and score lots more, all hypothetical but not unbelievable, batting to save game day 4, all out with possible lead but easily overcome, we are not in the game, very disappointing, feel sorry for our guys struggling but even sorrier for the 3-4 who should have played and for those 3 that couldn't play realising the aftermath of there actions.

Just a quick word on the pitch, winning the toss should be an advantage but not a winning one, all pitches world wide should give each side batting first or second a chance if good enough to win. No pitch should be able to allow a side to completely dominate to the point of ruling out a contest at day two of a five day test.
We have been however out played.

    Outplayed Frank? Really?

Just because they have better batsmen and bowlers, better coaches and better selectors?

The commentators on Fox Sports such as Mark Waugh keep saying Shaun Marsh is a class batsman and should keep getting selected. Marsh is 35 and is he is filling the number 4 spot, he should be scoring lots of runs. He has had plenty of chances.

At least the younger batsman in the team have the capacity to develop.

The commentators and the press are talking up the team and the series for all they are worth because their living actually does depend on people watching the pile of crap that is being served up.
a year from now we'll be watching a game where the team is going well with Smith and Warner in it, and the commentators will say how good it is to not have to talk up a rubbish team anymore.

It will be a huge effort to survive tomorrow, A draw would be a huge result considering how much India have dominated us

Big ask though and India odds on I think

We should be able to bat for a day to draw the test. But our team does not make me feel confident, the have failed time and time again this series.

Play has been abandoned for the day. India win the series 2-1. We have been conclusively out played and we are very lucky the final result was not 3-1.

Time now for a big shake-up of Australian cricket!

Think they need a rethink and a revamp, upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Pick side minus Ashes certainties such as Khawaja, Paine, Cummins Starc, Lyon and Hazelwood possibly Harris. Drop Marsh S, Handscombe. Select team playing Labuschagne, Head and possibly Harris along with 9 others play them for both tests then select Ashes squad keeping in mind Warner, Smith will make side.

Handscomb, Head and Finch should be no where near our batting lineup again. All walking wickets.

Several guys averaging 45+ so far this season. Give them all a go while in form and see who shines and who doesn’t.

Great win for Australia, Anytime you can knock off India it's a good day

Great fightback from India though to reach 254 after being 3/4

That innings from Rohit Sharma was brilliant to watch

Jhye Richardson MOTM for me, 4/26 from 10 overs and dismissed Kohli

Agreed, good game, both sides played well, some players above what I expected, S Marsh, Hanscombe, thought Maxwell should have batted higher but 3-6 batted well. Sharma was brilliant. Richardson bowled very well.

Apart from Captain Courageous again failing with the bat, the rest of the side played well with the exception of poor old Peter Siddle.

Needs another eight year lay off urgently! Who besides 'rotational' Hohns could have gone that way and revived Siddle's career?

India will come out firing game 2 with top bowling attack so we need at least a 20% improvement.

Pretty good performance against India and proud of the fight we showed

I thought we would get smashed 3-0 but we have beaten them in the first game and pushed them all the way in the second
