I don't get why 1. you even brought it up and 2. you're still going lol

You're acting like the Cowboys flogged the Knights from start to finish by saying how we're not the only team the Cowboys are gonna touch up this year lol you scored 4 tries in the final 20 minutes after being 18 down just before half time. I said well done to them for making a comeback regardless of the scoreline.

    Match Analysis:

The NYC Knights are ready to right their round two setback when they head back to Queensland to face the Gold Coast Titans on Sunday.

The young Knights were overcome by a late surge from the North Queensland Cowboys last weekend.

NYC strength and conditioning coach Mick Reid attributed a lack of possession in the second half to damaging the Knights’ lead which eventuated in the 42-22 score line.

“It takes its toll on you in the back end of the game,” he said.

“They scored a few more tries than what we would have liked.

“When you don’t complete sets and don’t have good field position, you make it hard for yourself tackling all the time, it takes the fuel out of you.

“We hope the boys have learnt something from that."

This time around, the Knights will go back to the basics.

“The focus is getting to the ends of sets and just working on our game plan,” Reid said.

“It’s all about completion and keeping the ball in play and having good kicks.

“We are trying to tighten it up for our guys and to get them to understand where they are on the field.

“The plan is to finish strong like we did against the Warriors in the first round."

Three weeks into the season, established combinations have already flourished and are expected to make an impact against the Titans.

“We still have the two young guys, Brock Lamb and Jack Cogger, in the halves who played in the Australian Schoolboys side, so they are still learning and had some tutoring last night by Michael Hagan,” he said.

“The forward pack is what I’m liking as you have the young Saifiti boys (Daniel and Jacob) and Luke Yates, Josh King and also have Danny Levi there.

“They are gelling a fair bit and are owning the middle a little bit more.

“They have a fair bit of pride in their job and what they do.

“We also have Ben Stevens coming off the bench, who played against grown men last year with the Wyong Roos."

The Titans head into the match sitting in fourth position, winning their first two matches.

“The Titans have some hard running forwards and plenty of offloads and some zippy outside backs so we understand where they are coming from," Reid said.

“They will try to kick our door down thought the front and get their speedsters out through the back.

“We worked on it last night in making sure that the steel door is pretty much shut.

“They will have to go around the outside of us.”

    Where it will be won:
    Up front

“I think it’s still going to be won in the forwards,” Reid said.

“That’s what we are trying to instill in the guys that it’s won in the trenches.

“When it gets tough the forwards are away they need to roll up their sleeves and dig in.”

    Last Word:

“We are looking at not being a regular NYC team. We are trying to hang our hat on our defence and our middle,” Reid said.

Birch should make a difference in both attack and defence.

Good looking team even though we're still missing players. I want to see more of Kelly and Pythian I don't know anything about them but good luck to the boys!

Lamb is very close to being as good as Donovan with the boot.
He was kicking over 80% in under 16s.

    Funny season so far.
Two of our three games we have run down a halftime deficit against good sides, which would point to us having good fitness - and the other game we fell in a huge hole with 20 to go and got smashed after leading for much of the game.
A few injuries might explain that though.

    Young Knights sink Titans

    Sun 22nd March, 05:57PM

In torrential conditions at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday afternoon the NYC Newcastle Knights fought back from a 10-0 half-time deficit to defeat the the Gold Coast Titans 19-18.

Following a disappointing second-half capitulation to the Cowboys in North Queensland last week, the Knights rediscovered their never-say-die attitude against a side that had been undefeated in the competition so far.

Both teams struggled with the heavy rain in their opening sets, coughing up possession through knock-ons.

It was the home side that managed to find some consistency afterwards, as the young Knights conceded a glut of penalties that allowed their opponent several early opportunities in attack.

The Knights clung on though, and eight minutes in captain Danny Levi tried to burrow over from dummy half only to be penalised for a double movement.

Two minutes later the Titans made no mistakes at the other end of the field, Jed Cartwright slicing through the defence to put the ball down in the left corner.

Shaun Hudson missed the sideline conversion, leaving the score at 4-0.

The Knights almost hit back straight away but Central Coast product Daniel Saifiti was ruled to have been held up over the line.

Twelve minutes later the Titans struck again, Anthony Colman scoring under the posts thanks to a big break through the middle by Brayden Torpy.

Hudson made no mistakes with his conversion this time, pushing the score to 10-0.

With thirty seconds left in the first half the Knights secured a penalty right in front of the posts, but the Titans tenaciously hung on to take a 10-0 lead into the break.

Despite a mountain of possession against them, the Knights remained in the match off the back of some good goal-line defence.

The Knights started the second half with renewed energy, carving out a number of early chances that the Titans did well to close out.

With the rain easing and ball security improving as a result, halfback Jack Cogger looked certain to score in the 47th minute only for the referee to rule obstruction in the build up.

The Knights continued to press and nine minutes later Bradie Smith scored first points for the away side, finishing off an unorthodox attack that had more than a hint of soccer to it.

Brock Lamb added the extras from in front, boosting the score to 10-6.

The Knights were growing in confidence and in the 63rd minute they scored again, fullback Dylan Phythian darting over in the corner.

Lamb again converted, giving the Knights a 12-10 lead with seventeen minutes to play.

The away side were looking unstoppable now and three minutes later winger Josh Birch collected a Lamb grubber to score on the left side.

Lamb again did well to convert from the sideline, pushing the score to 18-10.

With four minutes left on the clock Lamb was at it again, scoring a field goal that at the time almost seemed unnecessary, but would soon prove to be the difference between the two sides.

In the 78th minute the Titans regathered a short kick and scored a few tackles later in the right corner, Christian Mika crossing over untouched.

The Titans' kick proved unsuccessful but with thirty seconds left on the clock they scored again, pushing the score to 19-18 to the Knights.

Hudson needed to convert to win it for the Titans but his attempt was waved away, giving the Knights a hard-fought away win.

Sounds like we crossed for several disallowed tries so I guess we might've been a bit better than it seems. I was watching the updates and couldn't believe we let in 2 tries in the final minutes. We have to start playing the full 80 minutes, too many lapses but well done boys! Lamb what a star kicking the sideline goals in the rain and field goal to get us the win.
