I also think he's made his money playing Super Rugby and now in Japan, and he might he happy to come back for less. He only ever played a couple of union tests for Australia.

His still not going to come cheap and when our pack is as weak as p!$$ last thing we need is more backs.

What about as a bench impact utility? Clydsdale should be ready for 80min games so no need for another hooker in the 17. Bring him on a wide running back rower?

O'Conners playing in the UK somewhere, or close to there. If Vuna was still playing in Australia, he'd be a much lower choice then 3rd or 4th, especially after this season.

If Cooper wants to play put him in the front row. He sure is big enough!

Hull FC supposedly offering Mantellato a 2 year deal.

It's sad that he'll be remembered for his shocker. In 2012 & 2013 he truly was good, he was strong & a bit of a target in the air, but in first-grade he looked pretty weak & a liability. I guess it just shows the difference between NSW Cup & NRL.

He'll probably do ok over in the Super League, could be their new Pat Richards.

No surprise that he will probably go

Chanel, Aku, McManus, Mamo and Sione all in front of him and at 27 he has limited opportunity

Sad to see him go but best of luck to him

That article is going to start a civil war in Hull.
It's actually Hull Kingston Rovers who are looking at Mantellato, and Hull FC are their deadly cross town rivals.

Funny that Mantellato will be remembered for having ONE shocker against the Warriors.

In the 90's he would have been absolutely massive. These days his bean pole physique just doesn't cut it.

I barely remember Mantellato's first grade game this year already ... I'll remember him as a NSW Cup machine and for his great debut last year.

So with Boyd almost definately leaving next year what will we be doing with his $600k?

I'd love to see Sione extended til atleast 2017 and if we did now surely we could get him for $200k a year.

Assuming mason moves on and with Mckinnons money thats close to a $1 for next year.

Plus Packer, Cuthbo, Dobo and Tetevano's money. We should have heaps left to upgrade a couple of young guys contracts. Tariq would be on a bit, but i can't see Carlos and Paulo taking up much. We've got to have heaps in the bank.

Could we possibly get a straight swap Darius Boyd for Josh McGuire?

Knowing how our recruitment may be under stone, I wouldn't mind throwing some money at Tom Leayrod-Lahrs.
