2015 Newcastle Knights Jerseys

No, WesTrac didn't renew their sponsorship ... and NSW Mining didn't sponsor our jersey in 2014 apart from the mining jersey which we wore twice, so I'm not so sure they will be a regular part of our jersey sponsorship, nothing points to it.

As it stands we have Asphault, Aurizon on our shorts and nib on our sleeves.

McDonalds might take WesTrac's spot since it's going on the Jets too. Or Wests like I said.

And the NSW Mining logo was on our regular jerseys under the collar for quite a while last year, we have another year of sponsorship from them so I wouldn't rule it out being back but it looks like we may have nothing there anyway which isn't unusual. Even without NSW Mining that's still 5 sponsors on the kit and 1 charity, can't ask for much more.

Anything on the away jersey? Assuming it's the same as last year because clubs are meant to keep them for 2 seasons.

As far as I can tell, Tropic Ashphalt have not registered the trading name 'Newpave Ashphalt'. Also, a look on the Tropic Ashphalt site says they were acquired by Colas Australia Group in 2013. There's no mention of 'Newpave' on the Colas group site.

However, Newpave Ashphalt Pty Ltd was established on 23/9/14. So it's either a brand new company (unlikely, nobody starts a business & takes out a major sponsorship), or it's a new division of an existing business structure.

My fear is that it's a Tinkler business. Castle Quary Products is the current major sponsor of the Jets and is a Tunkler Company. It's in massive financial trouble & a strong candidate for a restructure. Ashphalt is one of the products produced by CQP. It's possible that the Ashphalt side of the business was profitable & salvaged in the form of Newpave. I'm just hoping that the jersey sponsorship wasn't bundled in with the handover agreement. I hope that's not the case, just a theory to add to the mix.

After all of that, I don't think I've made things any clearer.

Will take a little bit of getting used to, but ultimately i think i like it. Probably still prefer the white collars right now.

There was too little red from 2005-2011 & then white sneaked its way into the 2011 jersey & has stayed since, now we are well & truly red & blue, fairly evenly spread out too.

I'm with you Joel as Caste Quarry Products was merely a Tinks cover up.

Anyone else ever heard of them? The URL is a 'parked domain' which means it has been reserved but not activated as a web site at the moment. Address is in Coane Street Merewether.

Where do you mean by NSW Mining being under the collar? It definitely wasn't on the front of the jersey between the badges where it was at the end of 2013, and I never noticed it anywhere else on the jersey in 2014.

Well Tinkler apparently is sponsoring us for another five years or something, at a million a year, according to what was written when he left the club. I believe that was meant to be the WesTrac spot. I've heard no details of it actually happening though, god knows if it will (I actually hope not, just to get rid of him, and I doubt he'll pay up anyway).

I'd say sponsorships for new companies aren't that unusual, if they can afford it. They like to get their name out there, looks like that's what Newpave are doing.

It looks good, but it's really high on the jersey!

I like the red collar. It reminds me of the original jersey collar. Now we have an exclusively red and blue home jersey (obviously barring logos, sponsors, numbers).

Yeah I really like the fact that we don't have any white on the jersey as well. Long live the red collar!!!

All we need now are yellow numbers. :p

I'm more than comfortable in taking his $1m a year, as long as he has absolutely no say or input in to the Knights...

Consider it his fine for the pain he caused the club and us fans. :D

I'm thinking this asphalt company is about to get a rebranding because on the Knights website it says we are now sponsored by Tropic Asphalts so my guess is they'll become Newpave Asphalts by the start of the season.

NSW Mining will surely be there again, the tags are covering that spot in the photo.

My guess

Neck: NSW Mining
Torso: Newpave Asphalt (Tropic Asphalts)
Shoulder: ISC
Sleeve: NIB
Upper back: Rise For Alex
Lower back: WesTrac
Shorts: Aurizon/McDonalds

Wests might even get on there since their involvement is huge for us now. Coca Cola is still on board too.

For the jersey, I actually think the red collar looks good. Sponsor logo looks good, and the Rise For Alex is a nice touch.

Here's the knights release re our new sponser.

Newpave Asphalt join the Knights

Thu 11th December, 08:26AM

The Newcastle Knights are pleased to announce the signing of Newpave Asphalt as a major partner for season 2015.

Newpave Asphalt is a new and innovative asphalt contracting specialist, providing asphalt paving, road profiling, heavy haulage, equipment hire and contractor services.

Knights CEO Matt Gidley was thrilled to welcome Newpave Asphalt as a new Club sponsor.

“This is great news for the Newcastle Knights as we welcome Newpave Asphalt as our front of jersey major partner,” Gidley said.

“Newpave Asphalt are a locally based company providing a fantastic service to our community, both here and afar.”

Directors of Newpave Asphalt, Gerard Digges and Michael Lloyd identified the importance the Knights play in the community that Newpave Asphalt lives, works and employs.

“This a very proud day for Newpave Asphalt,” Digges said.

“Newpave Asphalt is acutely aware of the importance and influence that the Newcastle Knights have within Newcastle and the Hunter Region.

“We see the smiles that the club brings to our employees and our community and we see our partnership with the Newcastle Knights will ensure that the Club can continue to strive to be a source of inspiration for our community.

“The synergies are very much aligned; just like the Newcastle Knights, Newpave is locally based but competing on a national scale.

“We are all looking forward to season 2015 as a major partner of the Knights.”

Newpave Asphalt have committed to a one year deal with the Knights for season 2015, with a renewal option for a further two years.

My spider sense is tingling. This new major sponsor is making very little sense at all.

I've gone off searching for information on Newpave Asphalt and came up with very little.

Newpave Asphalt Pty Ltd is a brand new company registered on the 23rd September 2014. The locality of the registered office is Newcastle.

More information is available from ASIC but you need to pay for it.

Apart from ASIC and the Australian Business Register there is no information available other than the Knights' press release. Odd.

Anyone else remember the Gizmondo major sponsorship nonsense? Left the Knights in the lurch and helped sink the Hunter Pirates.
