Newcastle Knights Joey Leilua and Dave Fa’alogo have been named in Toa Samoa's 23-man squad for the 2014 Four Nations Series in Australia and New Zealand.

Dave Fa’alogo captained the Samoan team in the 2014 Pacific Rugby League Test against Fiji, a fixture used as a qualifier for the Four Nations Test.

He also played for Samoa in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.

Meanwhile, Leilua represented Samoa in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, held in England and Wales.

well he played for Samoa last year don't think he can play for both in one year?

Guess it comes down to his preference as he is eligible to play for either country
wouldn't he of picked by now already playing for Samoa?

I'm not really sure mate but you would think NZ would have checked his eligibility and the rules before selecting him

Four Nations: Matagi selected by NZ, Samoa

By Angela Beswick

Tuesday 7 Oct 2014 9:29 p.m.

Warriors prop Suaia Matagi has been named by both the Kiwis and Toa Samoa for the upcoming Four Nations tournament.

Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney this morning named Matagi among four rookies for his 24-man squad to take on Australia, England and Samoa later this month.

Matagi's inclusion was dependent on an eligibility transfer from Samoa.

But Samoa have indicated they will dig in and fight for the 26-year-old, naming him in the 23-man squad this evening.

The Kiwis are waiting on clearance from the Rugby League International Federation before finalising Matagi's place in the squad.

I think this is just a ploy by NZ to weaken Samoa. I don't think his form this year has warranted him a black jersey, but they saw how damaging he was in the RLWC and in the Samoa Vs. Fiji play off.

Frank Pritchard has again swapped his eligibility back to Samoa after playing for NZ last year as well?

I'm fine with him playing with NZ in the end but geez that's really pushing the rules if one year he plays for Samoa and then next Nz see his form at the WC and think yeah we'll take him.

In the paper today that they are keeping a spot open till after the PM XIII game for either Sione, Milford or McGuire.

Would Sione crack the backline but? With the likes of Lafai, BJ, Simona, Moga, Winterstein, Vidot and even Pete?

McGuire will probably get a call up for Australia with there current front row stocks
