    Recruitment And Retention Discussion

I think it’s just his strengths being his defensive control through the middle, in a good side this is 10x more notable. When we were relatively good he looked outstanding all the time, at the moment we suck and we’re all thinking “what’s wrong with Leo?” Going to be frustrating for sure...

    Toohey's News

Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I think moving a player like Gagai on makes more sense if they’re getting rid of of AOB. His a great player still but a new coach probably wants to get De Courcey/Votano/McCarthy/Hunt into the backline and playing regular first grade instead of having to...

    Sack Adam O’Brien

I think 2 things can be true. AOB most likely has to go as the same issues in attack are popping year on year and for the club to become a Premiership contender someone else has to address this. On the flip side, AOB has coached this team to be able to put in brave performances like that...

    Sack Adam O’Brien

It’s a really dumb article but the journos point is how many tries those players have scored and it works out to be double our total for the year.

    Kalyn Ponga discussion

Strange tone to this article by Chammas. Not sure us holding onto Kalyn is burying our heads in the sand. We’ve signed Brown to fix our chronic roster problem that’s held us back for years, releasing Kalyn now would make it worse...

    Sack Adam O’Brien

The game against Penrith we had very little go our way and then the game against the Broncos was one of the best of the year. I get your whole thing is the Knights can’t do anything good, but they were good performances.

    Kalyn Ponga discussion

I have a suspicion the agent in question is shopping about 40 NRL players to this rugby comp, given that since Monday night RTS has all but signed and now there is Papenhuyzen rumours. Chammas probably got wind of Ponga’s name first and it’s gone crazy.

We were playing well in 2023 and the 10 game run was a correction for all the unlucky / poor results we had earlier in the year.

    Toohey's News

Kenty must be mates with the Walker brothers. They won a comp yes, but never finished better than 5th and haven’t coached since 2020. Hiding them you’d be a chance at getting Sam Walker, but he also probably walks out when you sack them after 1 year.

    Kalyn Ponga discussion

Agree, had a ln argument with my mates on the weekend and we set a reminder for me to check in 2035 where Brown ends up ranked in terms of highest paid players. I said outside the top 10.

    Sack Adam O’Brien

Brown allowed a culture of losing that fostered throughout the club. AOB has at least fostered an environment of professionalism and competitiveness around how to play first grade. Think it’s shown most in how rookies now step up and for the most part look comfortable in first grade

Where does the rumour Annan & Sullivan are on so much money come from. Why would Annan be making more money in 2026 than Gagai and Frizell?

    Dylan Brown discussion

Might just be me trying to cope, but seemingly Ryles has Brown playing a very rigid role in the Parramatta system. He gets outplayed by whoever the 7 is because he’s either lazy and just stands on that left hand side or because he’s following a strict game plan (which seems like Eels are trying...

    Kalyn Ponga discussion

I think we’re likely to see 2-3 first grade signings for next year, probably around Christmas. Think POS having relationships with agents and the fact we’ve got money & opportunities means we’ll be able to get a few contracted players to angle for a move.

    Kalyn Ponga discussion

Given some of the roster decisions this year, I think the club internally wrote off 2025 in a sense, and without Sharpe and Ponga for an extended period of time the back end of this season is going to get pretty ugly. To then release Ponga with no viable replacements or marquee players available...

I also don’t care he got picked over Gagai, Shibasaki wouldn’t get a game over Gagai or Best here. Hard to lament him moving on.
