    Trials at Redfern V souths

30 - 0 I think the number 20 is Emily McArthur - one of our best in TG and HVN last year as well as Aus schoolgirls. She is bigger and has been unstoppable since coming off the bench.

    Trials at Redfern V souths

16 - 0 at halftime Our number 1 went into dummy half and stepped her way through the middle for 60 metres to score - brilliant run - only a small girl, but they couldn't get a hand on her. Once she stepped through the forwards, no one got close to her for speed - she was pulling away when she...

    Trials at Redfern V souths

10 - 0 Souths are still looking the best side. We have taken a couple of lucky chances really.

    Trials at Redfern V souths

Knights up 6 - 0 after 15 minutes in TG Souths have looked the better side - much bigger and better drilled Our 15 took an intercept and ran 80 to score - tall second rower I think - plenty of speed.

    Trials at Redfern V souths

Souths won 26 - 20. I think it's fair to say the Knights used a lot more fringe players in the second half.

    Trials at Redfern V souths

20-20 in LF with 5 to go - Knights have jerseys between 18 and 27 out there now, while Souths are mostly starting players.

    Trials at Redfern V souths

Knights up 14 - 6 at halftime in LF. It looks like they are playing game day conditions. Only a few interchanges and they are kicking goals. Souths have defended really well. Knights have been camped in Souths red zone and only scored 3 tries. Souths only had 1 real chance to score and a prop...

    Trials at Redfern V souths

Full day of trials v Souths for all the juniors teams. If LF is anything to go by, it looks like they are using close to the final teams and having a real go. LF are up 10 - 0 after 15 minutes and look the way better side so far.

    The pre-season 2026 thread

Schiller seems to be getting runs on both wings at different times in the training pics. I think he's easier to "fix" than Marzhew - Marzhew needs to grow 6 inches and change his body shape - Schiller just needs to learn to hold onto the ball.

    NRLW Recruitment & Retention Thread

Hard to know if that is good or bad. She showed enough in her first year of League for you to want to see what she does in year 2, but not enough to offer her more than Tess Staines, Lilly White or Evie Jones.

    The pre-season 2026 thread

I want DB to play on the left, like he did for Parra and NZ, and pretty much play the same role, except I want him to always be the guy who gets the ball if he calls for it - which is basically the difference between a halfback and a 5/8 these days. For context, Jarryd Mullen was our second...

Frizzel on NBN news talking about the halves - says they have tried different combos at every training session - says Sharpe is training at fullback and half and Smith is training at half and hooker.

    2026 Recruitment And Retention

I see Mitch Henderson and Jasmin Strange are running a kids skills programme. Mitch is calling himself a Knights player, so I assume he's in the part time squad and will play NSW cup. I'm surprised we haven't seen him training with firstgrade with all the halves we've had out before Christmas.

    The pre-season 2026 thread

I think the entire SG Ball squad could be anything this year. POS has brought in a lot of great prospects and our Matts side last year made the grandfinal and were only beaten by a Warriors side that is basically a NZ under 17s and has hardly been challenged by anyone in their 2 years in the...

    The pre-season 2026 thread

They were both on towards the end of the game and they'll be hard to tell apart from the stands, although Haukinima is a bit bigger and has longer hair, and still does too much walking in backplay I'd say. Hurrell-Epati is a harder worker and Haukinima runs harder.

    The pre-season 2026 thread

I was watching the SG Ball trial video on the weekend and thought Sione Haukinima is looking so much like Trey Mooney it isn't funny. He played Mathews last year and was said to be 120 kg and was flying down from Qld to play. He only came off the bench and played short minutes, and looked like a...

    2026 Recruitment And Retention

The odd thing is we still get a lot of good players from the central coast playing for the Knights and going to Hunter Sports High, and we aren't even counting them.
