I know I'm on the opposite side of the fence to you in terms of rooting interest - but I don't know how you can say the correct call was made.

Raya is fouled, I agree. But Rice is committing a clear foul simultaneously (arguably earlier), as is Odegaard. What's the right outcome? Disallow the goal and give a penalty?

Honestly believe that every possible decision in this instance is the wrong call. The EPL has done this to themselves by allowing all this nonsense wrestling in the box off set pieces. It's a poor way to decide such a pivotal match.

Fair enough, I haven’t really seen any angles that weren’t on TV but looked like Pablo had hold of Raya the whole time. I think it was a big confusing that the front on angle shows the Arsenal players grappling first because Pablo and Raya are literally out of the frame.

Agree with this on all counts. Keeper was fouled but Rice pretty much had the West Ham player in a Full Nelson to stop him getting into the danger area. The EPL & Referees Association need to do something to stop the amount of grappling and shirt tugging in those situations. Say what you want about PVL but he has acted to sort out these types of issue (head shots, hip drops, etc) in the NRL. Maybe the stuff in the EPL doesn’t lead to the same level of injury but it is a blight on the game.

I was kind of hoping that the goal would stand for no other reason than it would take the suspense on to the last two games. Surely Arsenal have it in the bag now?

Meanwhile, it seems no one wants to qualify for the Champions League next season by finishing 4th or 5th. Both Liverpool and Villa passed on great opportunities to cement their spot by putting in really poor performances.

Arsenal will go down as the most whiney, boring, double standards side to ever win a trophy. Disgraceful decision this morning and one that could also prevent Spurs from getting relegated which is equally as sad as those win the dog ****ing **** faces being crowded champions.
 
One day they’ll strip man city of all those titles from them just like the storm but we will always have this one. Thankyou Mikel.

Yeah, I’m wondering if Pep leaving a season early means it will be dropping soon.

If they do strip them it will be interesting to see what the Premier League do. Are the titles void or do they award them to the second placed team. When the Italian FA stripped Juventus they left one vacant and awarded one to Inter.
 
Bit of a difference between individual brilliance and playing for set pieces so you can pile as many blokes into the box that it looks like the Royal Rumble in the WWE.
 
Parts of this chat and what I’m reading in the English media is Arsenal and its fans in a nut shell. They win the Premier League and instead of it being a positive wholesome celebration, the energy somehow is still directed at arguing with other teams on why they’re morally and tactically superior. The fact all their ex players and current players are drinking water from Arsenal branded bottles is case in point. Petty and still missing the point - that up to this year, that team has been serial chokers that have completely underachieved.

A horrible season and style that makes Mourinho’s Chelsea tactics look like one of the most open and entertaining teams ever.

But, credit where it’s due, sometimes you just need to do what you need to do to get the monkey off the back and win!! It’s the football equivalent of the Knights somehow winning the premiership playing OB ball!! Imagine that ………..disgusting, but after years of hurt. We’d take it. For one season.

If I was an Arsenal fan I’d be stoked. My rhetoric would simply be we’ve won the Premier League, we deserved to this year (they really did - others bang average, a low scoring season points wise), and this is a new future. Go and dominate the next few seasons and win more trophies. But all I can read and see is petty “revenge” - hurts my eyes - bit like their football really 🤣🤣🤣
