Sandon Smith discussion

If Brown is back next week, I’d love for Sandon to keep a spot in the halves against his old club. What an opportunity that would be to show what a mistake they’ve made.

I want Sharpe to stay put, but the more I think about it..... shoe horn everyone in somewhere.

Sandon > hunt so Sharpe to FB. There's plenty of years for him to hone his 5/8 skills
Yep the position is less important, Holbrook has made an emphasis on players getting reps in multiple positions and it’s paying dividends. Can’t wait to see our team full strength.

The broncos just won a premiership with Ben Hunt on the bench.

Utility, five eighth, halfback, hooker it doesn't matter. With everyone back he still contributes to the team no matter where he plays. The coach will put the best team on the park.

Also with Sharpe and Brown currently on bum knees, having Sandon ready to jump back in is a blessing. It worked 20 mins into round 1.

Yeah it’s pretty inevitable that Sandon will go to 14 when Brown and Ponga are back.

With their injury histories: one of ponga, dylbrown or sharpe are likely to be out at any given time. The necessary reshuffle of personal will probably means there won’t be many games Sandon doesn’t end up starting

Brown's been, historically, one of the most durable players in the game. His one big absence was due to the groping incident. It'd be a true testament to our capacity to break players if he misses a lot of games for us.

I think Shape will get a spell once Brown returns. He's knee is not at 100%. You can see he is not as explosive as normal. (still doing a great job)
2 - 3 weeks back at 100% and he will absolutely kill it.

Yep he’s definitely not 100%, I worry every time he gets tackled. I don’t mind giving him a small spell, if it means he can be firing on all cylinders. His injury is part of the reason I don’t really want him going back to fullback while the others are out. Yes, less tackles, but more of a workload and last ditch scramble efforts.

Its an injury that is tender for months, Walsh had one last year and every time they get a knock the pain comes back but ultimately the injury is actually fully healed but somehow still holds a lot of pain. Time off won't speed up the pain going away so they say
