2026 Season

Jayden Campbell looked like he was giving ref Kennedy a roast there after winning that challenge...I hope he was. Seeing the ball shift under the ball-carrying arm is not a knock on...Kennedy can be far too pedantic.

Is it wrong of me to want the titans and the dragons game to end in a draw? I just think it would be funny if both teams went into round 5 without a win 😅

It looked very much like Gutho got hit early there, but they'd burned their challenge on a dubious knock on 30 seconds earlier.

You'd really think teams would learn by now, knocks on rarely get over turned.

Unsurprisingly it ended with the Titans making breaks with their flair but if I had to have one over the other in power rankings I think I’d have the titans over the Dragons at 15/16.
Hopefully the Kyle Flanagan head knock isn’t too serious but gee whiz Buchanan has a strong melon to withstand the clash.

I’m also evil for laughing at this but anyway…

Kyle Flannagan was knocked out for 5 minutes. Released from hospital at 2 am.

In the NRL, that's a minimum 11-day standdown, in boxing it's a mandatory 45-90 days. I hope the Dragons err on the side of caution.

No disrespect to Kyle (who I personally think would be ideally suited to 14, can play lots of positions competently and even well without necessarily starring in any of them), but it may be the forced change the Dragons need.

Small sample size but Rugby League Eye Test rates us the fourth most efficient team in attack so far this season (i.e. points scored relative to expected points based on average field position) and the third most efficient defence.

Penrith are 1st by a little bit in attack and 1st by a country mile in defence.

I may be wrong, but it doesn't look like Foz has made any changes to Manly's team for Thursday v the Phins. It'll be interesting to see if they lift for the new (interim) coach.

But it does look like the Titans have finally bitten the bullet and moved AJ to centre. Not sure that this helps them when his replacement at 6 is Illais with Campbell staying at 7. I would have thought they would switch.

It actually wouldn't surprise me if the Dragons won, partly because they dont have handbrake in there but also the Cowboys away record over large sample sizes has always been less then spectacular, sometimes awful.
Also the desperation of teams who are still winless over 2-4 Rounds as well. I wouldn't call the Dolphins a sure thing against Manly either after all the drama they've had. In comparison they do have the talent as well...

Mucking around with AI, I asked it who would win out of Phins and Manly, and its response included an in-depth analysis of the injury crisis at Manly, including Turbo (who isn't injured), Lachlan Croker (medically retired last year) and Tommy Taulau, who I think is playing Reggies for the Roosters. Obviously, there are better AI offerings out there, but so much of it's hype. AI will cost jobs, but will create some too...mainly checking and fixing problems caused by AI.

Anyway, I agree Manly might be worth a look as a smokey this w/e even without dropping Jurbo to the bench. Personally, I'd move him to prop.

You have to prompt AI for better usage, so it searches through the right information and gives it to you. Something like: "Who would win out of Phins and Manly? Resesrch deeply and find out all recent news, injuries, form, current players, line ups etc. You are a football genius, master, expert researcher."

After last week, I wouldn't be certain on any side winning a match tipping wise except Penrith right now and even they have a interesting matchup against the Storm.

I can’t read this article but this is the ref (Liam Kennedy) that reffed our game against the Wahs. It mentions he blew 28 infringements (I think 6 agains) in the Titans v Dragons game.

The first few rounds seemed ridiculous with the 6 agains, but round 4 seemed to settle down and games flowed more. Mind you I didn’t watch that game.

Hopefully he doesn't return.
Glad to see the nrl is taking action.

I watched this game and he refed the Titans like he does the Knights, Titans still managed to win, which was good.

What really is good that they have come out and taken action.

I get the momentum thing happening these days, but we dont need the ref's over exerting themselves and making that flow worse for one team vs another

That’s great, it’s about time refs are held accountable and punishments are given for crap games.
