2026 Recruitment And Retention

Not being Walsh in and naming Waksman is just utterly bonkers. Walsh is already double the player. Brooks is. First game or not he has the lixury of being just the interim coach. Make a gamble ona. Couple top juniors. There’s a good 9 in reserves too Zyon I think his name is.

I watched Walsh play against us live at brookie a couple of weeks back. He is like a lot of young halves who are a bit special, genius with the ball in his hands and at eyes up footy but not a lot of chat from him and struggled defensively. The kid will be a super star but needs games against men first.

Toohey’s article mentioned Frizell won’t be offered a contract. I think he may retire. Be good to have him around for another year though. How has D’Acre been travelling? Is he any chance of making it?

Ah yep missed Frizell in that.

D'Acre is doing pretty well, a good athlete and probably worth another contract outside of the top 30 if he doesn't have better options elsewhere.

There'll inevitably be a bit of movement on the fringes but wouldn't expect any other big signings barring something drastic happening internally.

Most likely names to get moved:
Sullivan (no recent update but seems he was considering medical retirement)
Schiller (jumped by younger players, think it'd be the best move for his own career to look elsewhere)
Arthur (if Graham is re-signed)

Did Tooheys News say we were negotiating with Marzhew?
If so, good.

I read a report that Sullivan has left the club and has returned to Queensland.
