Newcastle Knights V South Sydney Rabbitohs - 4.05 PM

I'm dissapointed by the last 2 weeks 40+ points when we have "focused" on defence all year. Let's now focus on attack since every bloke bar Friz knows the structure. We need an organiser and tell Pearce your back seat driving so he can save his energy for the "moments". Our forward pack deserves credit this year, they have all worked exceptionally hard all year for not great results. Halves need to deliver and ponga needs another gear to be honest. He either chooses 6 or 1. Not both.

See this is the crap that people don't like you on here for. You come here and post like your a Knights fan in threads, but your not. Really your just here to **** post through game threads and be a troll.

I could go back through this game thread, like most, and practically all you are doing is posting negative critical posts, and rubbish like the one above.

I can imagine the reaction if I went on to any other clubs forum, and started posting like you.
100% this is why I’ve had run ins with him . His a troll plan and simple . He talks a good game when people come at him but for anyone with any sort of Sense looking from the outside it’s obvious

The only Knight added to the NSW train on squad is Daniel Saifiti - so Klemmer can have a holiday.

Honestly, I'm not too disappointed with this end to our season.

I thought the score line flattered Souths a bit in the end and I didn't think there was a great deal between the teams except the scoreboard. I thought they completed their sets better and just have that little bit of extra class across the field, more experience and just better team cohesion. I thought the Knights didn't throw in the towel and didn't lay down for them like in the Titans game.

Some poor handling, poor ends of sets and defensively poor reads and some lazy effort area plays really proved the difference.

What did I say that you disagree with? You believe he had you guys playing well this 2nd half of the year?

We all hear from Billy how ruthless the west’s group operate. They will not like a year of what was dished up the last 8-10 weeks.

AOB showed no signs of being able to change his tactics or style of play but instead knuckling down on being a defence first side where the defence was deteriorating as the season progressed.

i could tolerate this team more if they weren't so highly paid...if they were a bargain basement side that punched above its' weight then i would probably adore them...the battling teams of old with their primitive facilities showed more heart and soul than the overpriced, overpaid "superstars" of today...i mean they've got everything nowadays, first class this and cutting edge that and they're still not serious challengers to the title... they exceeded my expectations this year but holy ****, how many points did they leak in the past month when it was all still there to play for? no steel. no resolve. too much of an "it'll all be on again next week" mentality...:(

Klemmer being overlooked is a joke. He’s great every single week if they pick an over the hill Tamou or RCG ahead of they are kidding. He is a better player in every aspect over those 2.

Tamou isn’t origin standard anymore but you can’t deny the season RCG has had. NSW are stacked with front rowers. The one Klemmer should be ahead of is the severely over rated Haas.

This one really hurts alot more than all of previous finals eliminations. Must be because we haven't been here for a while. The 14-0 start really got our hopes up. This side has so many shortcomings, hard to even address over one off season. The big elephant in the room obviously being Pearce. An NRL standard 5/8th is a must, but we all knew that before the season started.

The defensive work that AOB has been working on all season can be completely written as we've only gotten worse. Abit let down by Tuala the last couple of weeks as he was quite solid defensively all season and has capitulated recently.

There is so much work to be done with this team in the next off season. We are a fair way off premiership contention, groundworks is there just a huge set back in the halves department. Coaching can get us to that next level, performances aren't due to lack of ability or talent in the squad.

Warriors here, I know you guys are gutted at the moment, but just reflect a little on how far your club has come. Sure some nuts and bolts are loose with form, players and positions, but truly you are on the upward path. The old saying 'You have to lose one to win one applies'. So go well and stay safe over the off season and all the best to you and yours.

With us we seem to have a player who we are not re signing it appears, unbelievably to a lot of us. Adam Keighran, a Central Coast youngster we signed from Penrith. Preferred position is Halves, solid defender, left footed goal kicker and has played Centre and Hooker with success. If we don't have him he seems a real good fit for you. Plus he is a red head and can get angry.

Cooper raised a good point last night. After being at the bottom for so long we might not as a team have the stamina especially with an increased intensity at training to last all year. I know it was a shortened year anyway but with no byes and the new rule changes could have just came down to fatigue our up and down performances.

I think each year we will see an improvement between our best and worse games. Hopefully next year we can work towards a top 4 finish. Need to sort the halves out though. And I think we need to continue to work on our defense, but you cant neglect the attack we can't keep looking like we have never seen each other and need better last tackle options.

We shouldnt just say to hell with defense though and only focus on attack.

Yes.
The boys did themselves no favours by training hard all off season and Cupples said they were fitter at the start of this pre season than at the end of last season. The new coach then flogged them and got them super fit at the start of the season, and when lockdown happened, the only guy who slacked off, Shibasaki, was dropped from the team.
Basically the boys have been flogging themselves or getting flogged for about 11 months, when they are used to training half as hard for about 7 or 8 months a year.
They were struggling a lot for the last few months.

Regarding stamina of the players, we have dropped away in the late second half in many matches. Watching the pre-game drills, I often wonder if the players are asked to do too much and come off after these drills tired out.

The old days you never seen the players until kickoff. Blokes only came off injured otherwise played the entire game. Sure it's differently structured game etc but the principles are the same. Run hard, tackle harder. Kick for field position. Warming up is fine but every muscle group can be warmed in 10 minutes. They easily spend 30 out there. That's 20 minutes of fatigue right there
