I just don't understand how professional rugby league players "forget" how to attack. Surely it should just come naturally since they have been playing this sport their whole life.
We easily had that game but attack was so rubbish.
We need to persist with the same team except for the forced injury changes but there needs to be a considerable improvement in attack this week.
My only concern is we will fire in attack this week but fall apart in defense.
JOJO, never has a truer word been said , for weeks now our attack has been rubbish and unimaginative - dare I say predictable.
Changing around Forwards will achieve little, as Defensively we are settled, people are talking about bringing in Glasby , Sione , Barnett it will fix nought in attack and is more likely to disrupt the existing Defensive combinations.
The Cowboys showed the blueprint to shut down our Attack, first 2 Rucks as they are simply 1 off Klem then 1 off to Saf ( a little 2 pass would get us outside the set D ) and they then pressure the back line with outside in defense to keep the ball in tight and then rush Pearce on 5. ( how many kicks were smothered ). I know we tried to shoot the ball out wider to the wings as a reactionary strategy , with little success because it appeared as though the wingers hadn't trained to expect the cut out passes.
Our attack needs to be tweaked without disrupting the existing defensive line given Connor is the only X factor we are awaiting he needs to be squeezed in somewhere even if he is just tasked with anticipating the off load or the break down field - did anyone notice that when there is a break there is no support players for acres?
In the modern era teams are gauged by how many support players are in the picture at breaks in play, it is an indication of eagerness and enthusiasm for backing each other, currently we have no one other than the ball carrier in the picture surrounded by defenders.
