Mann is a strong runner, but not strong enough to make up for Best barely touching the ball over the past few weeks. Need someone at 6 who is a competent and willing passer.

Connor will make a big difference.

Mann is the only one out of our 6,7 and 1 that is playing anywhere near 100%, its our 2x million dollar playmakers that arnt up to scratch at the moment Manns doing the job the coach set him.
Seems to me when Pearce and Ponga are firing Manns game stays the same as when they arnt firing , they are letting the side down not him .

Best looked like he was doing a lot of hard runs and good work but his stats are easily his worst this year. He only got 6 fantasy points when he has been averaging 50+.

I just don't understand how professional rugby league players "forget" how to attack. Surely it should just come naturally since they have been playing this sport their whole life.

We easily had that game but attack was so rubbish.

We need to persist with the same team except for the forced injury changes but there needs to be a considerable improvement in attack this week.

My only concern is we will fire in attack this week but fall apart in defense.

It seems to be the running theme, i suspect that will continue for a while longer until they find the right balance.
There's also been a number of injuries and changes in the team that probably hasn't helped.

1 Ponga
2 Toa/Tuala
3 Best
4 Moga
5 Hunt
6 Mann
7 Pearce
8 Klemmer
9 McCull
10 Glasby
11 Barnett
12 Sione
13 Ese’ese

14 Watson
15 JSaf
16 Saulo
17 Guerra

18 Hoy, cover for Ponga if HIA or rested
19 Crossland possibly for Mann, we need more attack
20 Lino cover for Pearce, think he is carrying injury and adds to our goal kicking
21 Fitz cover for Barnett if not right, Guerra in Fitz to bench

Don’t see 18-20 happening this week but something needs fixing, just putting it out there

JOJO, never has a truer word been said , for weeks now our attack has been rubbish and unimaginative - dare I say predictable.

Changing around Forwards will achieve little, as Defensively we are settled, people are talking about bringing in Glasby , Sione , Barnett it will fix nought in attack and is more likely to disrupt the existing Defensive combinations.

The Cowboys showed the blueprint to shut down our Attack, first 2 Rucks as they are simply 1 off Klem then 1 off to Saf ( a little 2 pass would get us outside the set D ) and they then pressure the back line with outside in defense to keep the ball in tight and then rush Pearce on 5. ( how many kicks were smothered ). I know we tried to shoot the ball out wider to the wings as a reactionary strategy , with little success because it appeared as though the wingers hadn't trained to expect the cut out passes.

Our attack needs to be tweaked without disrupting the existing defensive line given Connor is the only X factor we are awaiting he needs to be squeezed in somewhere even if he is just tasked with anticipating the off load or the break down field - did anyone notice that when there is a break there is no support players for acres?

In the modern era teams are gauged by how many support players are in the picture at breaks in play, it is an indication of eagerness and enthusiasm for backing each other, currently we have no one other than the ball carrier in the picture surrounded by defenders.

The best team balance right now might be Moga and Tuala in the centres and Best on the wing.
Best did more hard yards than Tuala bringing the ball back anyway, and Tuala is a very good defender in the centres - so just have Best doing what Lee does - running the ball back and looking for tries - and Tuala can organise the defence.

Ive always thought Moga has the build of a big strong winger.
Not sure how he is under the high ball.
He would definently cary the ball back strong.

To me moga looks very lazy, he doesn't like to do the dirty work that Lee puts his hand up and does.

Don't know maybe I'm being harsh on him and he was fatigued as it was his first run but he has the build to do some damage but never really does anything.

Moga was by far the best back on the weekend. I said in the game thread he and Tuala should be switched around. Mind boggling you have a specialist centre that isn’t in the build for a modern winger bringing the ball back when you have someone the size of Moga there. He seemed to put his hand up regularly as well.

I watched the game again and have to say Moga did well he had a good game for someone that hasnt played for god knows how long ..The fumbled try was actually knocked out of his grip by Gutherson he didnt just fumble it .

Your probably right @Billy even 2 on 1 best would be bloody hard to stop 5 out charging like a bull at a gate.

Moga looked like he was blowing a gasket by the end with lack of match fitness, but was still putting in. Very surprised to see him be described as lazy?!

Something about Moga, maybe the look on his face, always makes me think he has more in the tank than he is giving.
The opposite to Guerra these days, who always looks like he's giving 200% and might stroke out any minute.
