Let's be honest its time for our team for 2021!

Article about Brodie Jones.
Says taking a pass from Kurt Gidley to score a try in the 9s was a dreamlike moment.
says playing against a near full strength Parra side in the 9s gave him a lot of confidence.
Most importantly, says the trainers kept at them and he thinks he didn't lose any fitness in the 6 weeks off.
Also says he is very keen to play firstgrade.

The article also says Barnett is out "indefinately", which I think is new. Last reports said he was on a 3 month timeline, which should be about half over.

He'll never be more ready, it's now or never for him. A lot of good young hookers at the club so if he doesn't do it now, it's park footy and a full time job. I think he'll be fine. He is certainly fit enough. He doesn't need to overplay his hand with Pearce and Ponga in the side. He'll be given a simple plan to carry out for as long as possible. I do think Watson was awesome coming off the bench so I'd like to see him continue there. I just have it in the back of my head that Obi told Watson he will be the 9 once the comp starts again, I'm not sure he will go back on that.

Randall would be my first choice to take on the hooking role.

I think one thing we now have in the coaching approach from Obi is the ability to distil what is expected of each individual player and how that is connected to the overall games strategy - he learnt from the best in Bellamy.

On that basis, if he is given the start, I think Randall will know exactly what is expected of him, be able to keep it simple, find his feet and concentrate on what he has to do - as much as we will miss what Brailey brought in those first two games, Randell will do the job the coach needs him to do, if asked.

The other aspect is that I don't want to lose what Watson has offered in the first two rounds either..with all the other issues the teams are dealing with, the more stability we have throughout this year, I think the better it will serve us at the business end of the comp.

I can't see us using a rookie in 9, I'd expect Crosslands or Lino to come into to be honest and them to come off the bench. With Mann going to 9 and them slotting into the halves for 20 mins a game to spell Watson.

According to Barry Toohey on Twitter, Barnett is back in around six weeks from now.

A big part of rookie players succeeding comes down to just hopping into a good side in my opinion. If you have a good team, rookies seem to excel because they have good players around them, their team is on top & they can do a simple job. As we know very well, the same thing happens the opposite way, a lot of guys will just not succeed because they're surrounded by ****. I think we have a good side & Randall will be able to do a good job.

Yuck maybe last year. I think O'Brien has already said it's down to Watson & Randall. Don't put a mark through his name just because he's a nobody as of right now, he might end up surprising you & becoming a big part of the team this year.

We'll see anyway, always cool for a rookie to debut. Hoping Hoy slots straight into one.

Anyone else think being they are after marquee match's we'll get Manly?

Article saying Brailey has been cut from the training squad because of his injury being long term and we now have a 31 man squad in training. Barnett is still in the squad due to his return time being closer.
The article also says the NRL has OK'd us negotiating and signing players, so we can go to the market to replace Brailey.

Looked at that article again and it's been re-written.
I noticed it was credited to a reporter I hadn't heard of the first time I read it, and now it's uncredited.
In the original it said hooker was between Watson and Mann, and we could be looking for a replacement for Brailey - but now it says it's between Watson and Randall - no mention of us looking to sign anyone.

I'd love someone in the media to ask the players who they think the fans feel with them bleating on non stop about their money and saying zero about the coach's/club admin/managers ect not getting paid?

Really left a dirty taste in my mouth.

Lot's of photos of the players training on the Knights site and in a Herald article.
They all look very fit. Some like Saulo and Best look fitter than ever. Josh King looks like he's gone a bit too far and lost some bulk.
